"DO NOT RETAIN: I'm an attorney going through a contested divorce. The first rule of lawyering is to advocate for the client. Kim couldn't even do that. She was intimidated and scared to speak. I ended up in a worse position because of her. Lawyer skills = 0. Communication was just as bad. I didn't get responses for days--if at all. Many of my emails went unanswered as well. She didn't advise me of the process or what to expect and had no plan of action whatsoever. Communication = 0. She also seemed to forget things we had spoken about at length. I had to re-explain things multiple times. At our last appearance before I fired her, she had the audacity to yell at me in the hallway of the court after her adversary walked all over her. I watched in horror as she got steamrolled. It was embarrassing. I could've done a much better job. I even made an outline of the arguments for her. But that proved to be too much. When I asked her to bring up topics she shushed me like a child. Very patronizing. I told her I was not happy with her representation (or lack thereof) and she yelled at me for her own incompetence. The amount of money I had to pay her is just the icing on the cake. She took a sizeable amount of money, charged more per hour than she's worth, and then tried overbilling me. Kim talked a big game over the phone but couldn't back it up in court. Now I have to fight to get back what her incompetence cost me. There are plenty of skilled matrimonial attorneys out here. DO NOT RETAIN KIM JOYCE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY TO LOSE AND LIKE HORRIBLE SERVICE ALL AROUND. This process is a nightmare to begin with. Instead of helping, Kim made the nightmare worse. BEWARE."

"All about money at $400 an hr for anything. I regret using this attorney to represent me. I lost in the end. I put my trust in her and that was a mistake."

"I retained Kim Brennan-Joyce's services for my divorce in 2017, and a settlement was recently reached. Throughout the past year and a half, she has been incredibly helpful with my getting through the process. Besides making sure the settlement was fair, and all aspects detailed out in full, Kim often took the extra time to explain and discuss things with me when I was confused about parts of the process. What started off as a very scary and worrisome situation for me, due to my spouse's inconsistencies, became a process that I felt comfortable with, and knew was being handled correctly and fairly. I also had to pay a retainer fee at the beginning of the process, but, that is standard with any type of law action being obtained. Also, the process can take time, as there are so many other factors that can hold up parts of the paperwork, including, opposing lawyer's late responses; spouse's delinquencies; awaiting court dates; etc. It can be a long process, but, I did come to understand that it was all worth it in the end. Having a lawyer that you can trust and respect, and know has your best interests at the top of the list, is absolutely necessary if you are going through a divorce. The opposing side or other unexpected factors, can create a lot of issues and can add fear and stress to an already anxious situation. Even when you are in total agreement with the divorce situation, the process can still be incredibly scary because of the unknown outcomes. Whenever those things arose, Kim always eased my mind, and advised me not to worry. That kind of attention during something emotional like this, is very important to be able to feel confident about. I believe my fees have been very fair, and I couldn't be more grateful for Kim's assistance and work with my case. I started off afraid that I would lose everything, to ending up with exactly what was just and fair in my circumstances. I was lucky to have found her, and I highly recommend her to anyone in the same situation."

"Would not recommend, she promised me things she couldn’t deliver on, I ended up paying in full before our first appearance, she was rushing to settle without fighting for me or my family, she got very nasty when I nicely asked why she was offering and settling on things that were the opposite of what we discussed. She told me she’s going to walk out on me and leave the courthouse. She refused to answer any calls from that point on and emailed me back. It was a waste of money and now I’m set with those terms and cannot fight to change them because it was set recently. I am not happy at all with her services. Look elsewhere before wasting your money and losing rights to your kids."

"I would highly suggest retaining Kim if you are looking for a strong divorce lawyer. I have been working with her and her team for the past year. My questions/concerns have been consistently addressed swiftly with expertise and sound advice. Kim works extremely hard in advocating for me, and always takes the time to explain things. She has worked with my financial situation....that has certainly helped with stress and anxiety as I transition through this difficult time. Her paralegal, Patti, is amazing- highly organized and eager to assist."
