Dr. Wakefield graduated Cum Laude from Rhodes College and earned her medical degree from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her medical journey includes a General Surgery Internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and an Otorhinolaryngology Residency at the renowned Mayo Clinic, where she was recognized with the Resident Research Award by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She further honed her expertise with a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
A veteran who served with distinction during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Wakefield was an integral part of the Department of Otolaryngology at the National Naval Medical Center. Her service earned her several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Dr. Wakefield's clinical interests focus on pediatric sleep disorders, voice disorders, and the effects of childhood obesity on ENT health. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology.

"I have been dealing with this office for 18yrs. They are very good at what they do. Dr. Wakefield she is wonderful, kind ,a and caring. She has been taking care of my daughter since she was little approx 13yrs. Now we are back and she is working so hard on helping my daughter feel better. She is gentle that she got Mt daughter to actually sit to be able to insert a camera in her nose to see her adenoids and throat. It was great not to see my daughter cry or be very scared for a change. I will eventually have grandchildren and if needed and hopefully the Dr is still there I will be seeing her for them.."

"She is straight forward and switch all my kids and myself to her. When I read her reviews I said I have to meet her for myself. When I first meet her yes she have a strong personality. But when you get to know her she is very nice. From the very first time I met her she was great. I wish I would have meet her to do my first son Tongue tie release. When she did my second son tongue tie there is no scar showing he had tongue tie and I didn’t have to come back a second time to redo it. She will be my family forever ENT doctor. She is not for the weak. I respect her for that"
