"Dr Crowell and dr james are literally a god send! My twins were having extreme behavioral issues. I knew my youngest son had autism and severe adhd but the school districts testing showed he didn’t. I did not accept that as I knew he did. I finally decided to take him here and these 2 amazing women evaluated with him and found he did! The amount of relief I felt was indescribable because I felt so unheard for so long and to finally be heard was incredible. He was placed on medication and is finally able to thrive in school! "I go to my insurance website to look for available psychiatrists. Under Stony Brook, it says "accepting all patients". Great! I call, they say "we are not accepting new patients at this time". When I ask about what is posted on the website, they say "that's for the wait list". If you have a wait list, a wait list that you are NOT ADDING MORE PEOPLE ONTO, then why would you claim you are accepting all patients? Not to mention when you go to their own website, it shows at least 10+ psychiatrists "accepting all patients"! When I suggested to the receptionist that they should probably change that on their website, she hung up on me. This hospital is a joke and is not interested in helping anyone. Don't waste your time. And they wonder why people on Long Island are acting crazy."
