"This is a nice submarine. I went here while visiting the Buffalo Naval Park and was satisfied with my experience. This submarine was built during WWII and sank many Japanese navy ships including the Nagara, which was notorious for avoiding being sunk by attacks in the past. The interior of this submarine is very compact. There’s a torpedo loading area where you can see a torpedo loaded onto a rack, ready to be fired, a dark control room illuminated by dim red lights, and a lounge area. One cool thing about this submarine is that you are able to walk on the surface deck of the submarine. I gave this submarine five stars because it’s a nice, well preserved submarine and I thought it was nice that you could walk on its deck and see the area where torpedoes were launched from it."
"Very nicely preserved WWII submarine which sank Japanese cruiser Nagara in 1944 on the first mission. They play the sound that engines would have made in real life in the engine room, it gives a somewhat good idea of what it was like to be on the ship with the diesels operating."
"Impressive submarine"
"A well preserved WWII combat vet submarine, well worth the visit."
