Located at 44 Camden Street, Johnson City, New York 13790, our department operates within the stringent guidelines of the New York State Sanitary Code, Part 5, Subpart 5-1, ensuring the highest standards for public water systems.

Service Area

Our comprehensive water service extends beyond Johnson City, reaching the areas of Westover, Fairmont Park, Choconut Center, and parts of the Town of Union. We also supply water to the Broome County Airport and Landfill, sections of the Town of Dickinson, the Binghamton-Johnson City Sewer Plant Terminal Pumping Station, and parts of the Village of Endicott. In addition, we maintain emergency interconnections with the City of Binghamton and Town of Vestal to ensure uninterrupted service.

Infrastructure and Maintenance

The Johnson City Water Department is equipped with seven water storage reservoirs, five wells, four booster stations, 550 hydrants, approximately 2,500 valves, and over 80 miles of water mains. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide safe drinking water and an adequate supply for fire protection and sanitary needs.

Billing and Rates

Water bills are generated quarterly and are based on your water meter readings. For residents within the Village of Johnson City, the minimum quarterly bill for using 1,000 cubic feet or less is $170.00, covering water, sewer, and refuse services. Rates for usage over 1,001 cubic feet vary according to a specific chart. Residents outside the Village have a minimum charge of $55.00 for the same usage. Sewer rates are set at $55.00 for 1,000 cubic feet or less.

Please be aware that solicitations for water service repair coverage are not affiliated with the Johnson City Water Department or our Meter Replacement Program. Repairs to a customer's service line from the water shut-off to the building are the responsibility of the customer.
