"This train trip provided gorgeous scenery! We rode in the raised top 360 degree view car. We had snacks and drinks on the ride. Once we arrived there were some outdoor fires and we made s’mores. It was a fun experience for everyone! Highly recommend!"

"Taking the fall Gateway in mid October was a great experience, from the train ride itself to the attentiveness of the staff. We rode in the diamond class lower level, and in my opinion these were the best seats on the train. Not only did we have the most comfortable seats (which were leather and plush) we also had the most space on the train in terms of proximity to others. We also enjoyed the open air car which gave a great view of the Adirondacks, and allowed us to get up and move during the ride. Included in our ticket were unlimited drinks (tea, coffee) and hors d’oeuvres, and the staff was attentive to waiting on us for drinks. Overall this was a great experience given the ticket class we purchased and I would recommend it to anyone. If you are traveling with more than two people I would recommend one of the tickets with table seating so your group can sit together."

"Was the Polar Express ride nice? In so many words, yes. Was it worth the premium rate paid? Not really. The actors/volunteers were enjoyable. Santa was awesome. The views were not so good. The hot chocolate and cookie were delicious. The music kept repeating the same 3 songs. Many things could be improved to it more enjoyable. Some things out of their hands and some things in their hands."

"I absolutely love the Adirondack Railroad! They have a large variety of rides to choose from, including holiday trains, layovers in some of the cute towns in Northern New York, dinner trains, beer and wine trains, and much more. I’ve gone on a few versions and plan to try more. The Christmas train with a layover in Thendara/Old Forge is my favorite simply because Old Forge is a cute town with lots of great stores and restaurants, as well as holiday spirit. If you’re a fan of trains at all or just interested in them in general you need to try the Adirondack Railroad!"
