"Took my daughter here on a mom and daughter night out. Our food was pretty good and the server was kind and attentive. The price was shocking. After we placed our orders we were asked what kind of salad we liked, house or Caesar. We both said house and then were charged extra for the salads at $6 a piece. And they had pools of water under them and a lot of wilted greens. The server presented them to us in a way that made it seem they were part of our meal. And they should have been given the prices of the meals. We wound up paying $74 after tip for the two of us. We both got an entree, salad, and a soda. If it weren’t for the price we may have come back but that is just a lot of money for what the place is and what you get. We won’t be back because of that."

"Check all the boxes here... Nicely decorated, all new decor, friendly servers, and best of all the food is delish! Oh and don't forget the happy hour specials are the best of all. I had a couple of drafts, Saranac and Prison City, both excellent! The sausage riggies was a blackboard selection, and boy was I glad I did. So fresh, and tasty, the pasta cooked right, onions, peppers, cheesy, sauce( oh yeah "It's a Utica Thing" gravy) and sausage, with just enough heat.. sooo goood! Must try!"

"After traveling for decades throughout Italy, I have to say that the pasta dishes at “It’s A Utica Thing” are quite possibly the best in this area. The home made pasta combined with authentic recipes ( with a Utica flair, that makes them incredibly local ) produces a meal you won’t soon forget. The bar staff, wait staff and back of the house chefs are all top notch. This is quickly become our most favorite place to dine in the area. Just go, you won’t be disappointed!"

"I have previously enjoyed It’s A Utica Thing! Food truck on multiple occasions and highly enjoyed them. So much that I was craving some good riggies and found they had opened a restaurant! We were excited to go, but I was a little disappointed. We ordered the mezza Luna’s for an appetizer, which were delicious, not easy to mess up fried mozzarella though. When my riggies order came out I was disappointed to see the chicken looked horrible, it was rubbery and weird looking and all hidden under my pasta. The pasta tasted like there was alcohol not cooked out of the sauce enough or something, I’ve had the riggies before and this does not do them justice. The meal looked much better than it tasted."
