Avis Car Rental

"After the terrible experience at Hertz, our family trip was saved by Mark at Avis. 6 months in advance booking a vehicle that would fit our party of 6, did not help at Hertz when we were given a 5 seater with the check engine light on that wreaked of smoke and we were told it was literally the only vehicle they have (BUF Hertz location). However, after calling Avis and speaking with Mark, he was able to book us within the hour for an available 7 seater vehicle. He was incredibly helpful and sympathetic to our situation (we had small children in our party so it added to the stress needing a vehicle to fit us all). Without his help, we would have missed our pre-booked events we had to drive to and that didn't have a last-minute refund option. He also went above and beyond helping us to be able to drop the vehicle off at BUF airport instead of needing to drop in Orchard Park and take an Uber to BUF. Thank you so much Mark from our whole family!"

"Don’t not rent from this place, had a horrible experience. Booked a reservation weeks in advance for a family emergency day before scheduled pick up time this location called me saying the vehicle I booked (suv 7 seater) won’t be available and pretty much left me in the dust . They quoted me for another 7 seater sub for $250 dollars more . I asked them if they can match my current price reservation that I book days in advance prior to my scheduled day of leaving town because this isn’t my fault they told me they had the vehicle available for this day when I booked the reservation and everything will be fine . Now hours before my scheduled time of leaving town with my family they are giving me the run around and just want to up sell me on the same suv . The 1800# was no help either the people in this store was no help and they were a bully . I asked to speak with a supervisor they stated they had nun. It’s unbelievable what they put me thru now I’m stuck without a rental due to the fact that they have no suv county wide but want to upsell me on a different suv hours before I have to leave town not sure if this is there sales tactic. will never book with Avis again neither should you that is reading this. There customer service is horrible and quite frankly I think there racist here. This isn’t my first run around with Avis as well. Horrible place is there was a 0 start option I would have given it to them. DONT BOOK HERE ! Try enterprize or budget any other place other than Avis . I was able to get the same suv 7 seater rental for cheaper with enter prize last minute . Avis is not the place ."

"These guys really came through for me. My car broke down and I wasn't sure when it would be ready to drive. I arrived five minutes before closing and the manager was able to calm me down and get me back on the road quickly and easily. He recommended a weekly rate and saved me money. I extended over the phone conveniently and my total actually came in under what I was quoted when I returned the car. No weird charges or surprises. The Camry I rented was clean and almost new. It drove well and didn't give me a single problem in the two weeks I drove it. I appreciate the service and the peace of mind these guys provided. Thank you!"

"0 out of 5 stars the bald headed guy that works their is very very rude! They don’t inspect the cars before you leave so make sure you do or you might get sent of with a nail in your tire ! Save yourself some time go to the Avis on Sheridan !!!!"

"Never again! Would give it zeros if I could. First vehicle I was offered, was filthy inside and out, including a clump of mud and grass stuck in the crack of the bumper. When I opened the door, reeked of marijuana, hair, crumbs, and debris all over inside the vehicle. I went back in the office to tell the salesman where he gave me a surprise look and said he had just cleaned the vehicle. He then came out and said he would give me a coupon for Delta sonic across the street to get a basic wash and he would vacuum it out quickly. He also said he had a strong spray for odor eliminator. After watching his poor attempt for five minutes of vacuuming, including the dried tomatoes on the upholstery in the back, I said, I would not take this vehicle. I want another vehicle. he gave up the cleaning attempt, gave me keys to another vehicle that was filthy on the outside. Not as dirty on the inside as the last one, but again, far from being clean . and again reeked cigarettes. When I turned the key the engine light came on immediately along with tire pressure warning. all four tires were low, 30 and blow.!! I went back in the office, but I had to wait my turn as there was another couple complaining about the vehicle they were given….”dirty and smelling like smoke.” When it was my turn for a third time, I told him to give me any vehicle you have that does not smell like marijuana or cigarettes and I’ll get it cleaned myself. He then happily produced a set of keys to a vehicle which I drove across the street to Delta sonic and spent my own $ $75 getting it washed outside and steamed cleaned inside. By the way, Delta sonic did not except his coupon. It was expired. Ironically, there is a sticker on the dash of all the vehicles that says a $250 fine will be charged for any smoking in the vehicles or excessive cleaning that is necessary. I don’t know why he doesn’t keep everyone’s $250 and go get it cleaned at Delta Sonic across the street. My biggest problem with all of this was that his attitude was he was annoyed, exasperated by my “ pickiness” of the cleanliness of the vehicles."
