"Sushi is meh. It used to be good here - what happened? Rice was sickeningly sweet. Wasabe tastes cheap. Service horrendous. What is going on in there?"

"Peak of summer in the Hamptons, still impeccable service. Our party of 5 was accommodated, even when we asked to move our table. Gommae was delicious, eel and fish were astoundingly fresh, and rice was cooked perfectly. The owner of over 25 years even visited our table afterward. A true gem."

"Long overdue review of Sushi 1! It is reasonably priced delicious sushi, and the people who work there are lovely. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a casual dinner."

"My wife and I had the most delicious dinner at Sushi 1!! It’s truly a hidden gem with the most accommodating staff. This was our first time here, but it definitely won’t be the last!! The sushi was extremely fresh and very flavorful. The ambience was low key and very serene! We look forward to our next visit!!"

"Had dinner here last night. What a surprise at the delightful find. We had an early dinner and there were seats available. I definitely recommend a reservation if it's during a prime time for dining. We were seated and offered to order drinks. We perused the menu and had the edamame, fried vegetable gyoza and steamed shrimp shumai for appetizers. Every came out pretty quickly. I thought the gyoza would be pan fried not deep fried, but they were tasty. For dinner we had the chicken teriyaki, the tuna/hama sushi dinner and a spicy yellowtail roll. Everything was really tasty. The chicken was a little over cooked, but still yummy. I wish they had low-sodium soy sauce. The portions were great. For dessert we had 1 green tea and red bean mochi. We will definitely return."
