Welcome to First Presbyterian Church, located at 1301 Indiana Avenue in the heart of Monaca, Pennsylvania. As a vibrant and welcoming place of worship, we are dedicated to serving our community through faith, fellowship, and service.
We are thrilled to welcome Rev. Robert Saul as our new minister, starting January 2, 2022. A fourth-generation resident of Beaver County, Bob was raised right here in Monaca and is a proud alumnus of the Monaca High School Class of 1973. From a young age, Bob felt a calling to both the Funeral Profession and Pastoral Ministry, leading him to an impressive educational and professional journey.
Bob earned an Associate and Bachelor Degree in Business from Penn State University-Beaver and Penn State University-Harrisburg, graduating in '75 and '77 respectively. He is an honors graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science class of '78 and holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, class of '87. Ordained in Word and Sacrament, Bob is also a member of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery.
With 42 years of experience in the Funeral Profession and 38 years in Pastoral Ministry, Bob currently serves as the Funeral Director, Supervisor, and General Manager of Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc. and Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Since returning to Monaca in 2005, he has served several local congregations including Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Darlington, Calvary Presbyterian in Beaver Falls, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in New Brighton.
Bob is a proud father to his daughter Rachel Rebekah Saul Rearick, and sons Phillip Michael Saul and Jonathan Mitchell Saul. He recently welcomed his first granddaughter, Lillian "Lilly" Rose Saul Rearick, in July 2021 and his second granddaughter, Remington "Remi" Lynn Saul, in September 2021.
We invite you to join us for worship and community events. Ashes will be distributed on March 2, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. If you cannot attend that evening, ashes can also be received on Wednesday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Starting Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., we will be holding a series of events.
