About the Business
The Child Advocacy Center, located in Boardman, Ohio, is a part of Akron Children's Hospital network. Our center is dedicated to providing expert pediatric care throughout Ohio with a comprehensive range of services including two hospitals, 44 pediatrician offices, 50 primary and specialty locations, and over 1,000 providers. We offer convenient access to specialized pediatric care, ensuring that every child receives the best possible treatment.
Services:
The CARE Center at the Child Advocacy Center focuses on evaluating and initiating treatment for children suspected of experiencing physical or sexual abuse and neglect. Our multidisciplinary team, comprising doctors, nurses, and social workers, collaborates with private physicians, law enforcement agencies, child protection agencies, and other community organizations to provide thorough and compassionate care. We also offer consultations for suspected abuse cases involving inpatient children.

"I was hoping to find some resolution for my daughter here. She is child with a history of being traumatized and is often uncooperative. We were greeted so coldly by the receptionist and nurse that is was shocking. My daughter did not respond well to this and refused to be interviewed. I was told because she would not cooperate, they will not interview her. There were no concerns by anyone as to whether or not she was being abused, only that they will not help an uncooperative child. There were only concerns about my inability to control this sweet but traumatized 6yr old girl. The cold callous behavior of everyone I encountered was shocking. If your child is not shy and timid because of their abuse, they will not help you."
