"I really should have believed the other bad reviews. Probably one of the worst doctors I've ever seen. Told me it's all in my head and anxiety. Told me I wasn't dealing with a condition I've been fighting for 6 years, with many doctors backing me up on it. He gaslights you to the full extent. He litterly yelled that he couldn't help me. All because my in office ekg was normal...I think. He never said anything. I'm 36 and get winded doing the smallest things. Chest pain and light headed all the time. Apparently I'm fine. He offered a holtor monitor and then said never mind. It's doctors like this that make chronically ill patients like me, terrified to ask for help. No other tests what so ever. He doesn't seem to care at all about his patients."

"I see now that I’m not alone in my less than par experience with Dr. Hunt. He spent less than 10 minutes with me, told me nothing was wrong just bc my ekg was normal (no additional testing) He did not hardly let me talk. He also didn’t care to look at my stats from my Apple Watch showing that I have consistently low oxygen & heart rate that correlate to my symptoms, he didn’t answer my questions & dismissed my concerns. He was rude & short with me. I ended up leaving frustrated & in tears. The nurses however were kind to me & staff seemed professional."

"Before my visit I read some of the negative reviews, and I was concerned. But I did not have the same experience as others did. The office was organized and professional, and I was called back to a room nearly immediately. Dr. Hunt was personable and I could tell he “knew his stuff”. Something folks need to keep in mind is that all cardiologists have an inflated ego, so I just go in expecting that. That’s just part of the way they are trained. I was pleased with my visit and would be happy to go back."

"Let me first start by saying that I have never reviewed anything and gave only one star. I was referred to Dr. Hunt because I had chest discomfort while shoveling snow. I am giving Dr. Hunt a one star review for three obvious reasons. One, Dr. Hunt displayed horrible bedside manner. Secondly, his choice of diagnostic testing was questionable. Lastly, Dr. Hunt failed at communicating important information from a failed diagnostic test. 1. Horrible bedside manner. When I asked Dr. Hunt if a normal stress test without imaging was a valid test for my situation, his response was, “Well, the most valid test for coronary artery disease is an autopsy.” This is a response that demonstrates arrogance and intimidation. It is a serious situation for anyone to go to a cardiologist, the last thing the patient needs while in this vulnerable state is to be given such a harsh response, and a response that completely negates an honest question. 2. Poor choice of diagnostic testing. As previously mentioned, Dr. Hunt ordered a normal stress test on a treadmill. As told to me from several other physicians, a normal stress test without imaging has a higher false positive rate than other types of diagnostic tests. I figured that if I go through with the test and pass, then I would just move on and chalk up my discomfort to muscular or skeletal pain. However, the test ended up showing ST depression. The next step that the doctor wanted was a heart catherization. Again, questionable that the choice of testing was to go from least valid to most invasive (and expensive $$$). 3. Lack of communication. During my initial consult appointment, the time Dr. Hunt spent communicating with me about what was happening was very short and to the point. In most cases, I do not care about expediency, however, this is my heart and would prefer not to rush my appointment but have a thorough understanding. The second egregious problem with his communication is that he had a nurse call me to tell me that I failed the stress test and that he is ordering a heart cath. There was no consultation with the doctor, there was no description of what was showing in the test that was abnormal, there was no explanation of options of further testing. Thankfully, I went and got a second opinion. In which I was told my options and chose to have a CT test of my heart. Thankfully, my test turned out great and I have no apparent heart disease. If you have an upcoming appointment with Dr. Hunt, please reconsider going to him and find another competent and compassionate physician. If you do not know of another physician, I highly recommend Dr. Bage out of Akron."
