U-Haul Moving & Storage of Provo River

"If you can actually get scheduling to work out with these people, their service is worth it, but there was several hiccups in the process that were overly complicated and unnecessary. They originally told us that we would have to drive out from Provo to Eagle Mountain just to do our pick up on the Monday we moved, so I asked if there was anything closer and they said the next closest one is in North Orem at a third-party service, called Star Towing, I think(?) which was absolutely stupid, because they said they wouldn’t have the truck ready until 10:30 am and apparently they were closed for two hours in the middle of the day (what kind of business does that? Super dumb). So in a last ditch effort to make things work out more efficiently, I made a call to U-Haul of the night before our move and they happened to have our 15 foot truck with the car carrier available less than a 10 minute drive away from us, which made things work out so much easier. This time it worked out but I’m not sure if there will be a next time. At least the advice I got from the guy at Budget Truck (which actually screwed things up far worse than anything U-haul did) gave me good advice, always book reservations with multiple companies."

"No 24 hour access. It's storage is open from 5am to 10pm, so night shifters, you won't be able to access it 24/7. This location is not a participating 24/7 location. Great place otherwise. No problems."

"After completing my online rental I chose not to purchase insurance. I've used the rental trucks several times and always pick this option. I know I selected no insurance because the website asks if you are "sure you'd like to drive without insurance" before allowing you to fully pick the option. After reading over my receipt in the rental truck I realized they charged me for insurance. The check out lady must've added it during my check in process. Unfortunately there was no way for them to see when it was added and because I drove off the lot they couldn't reimburse it. They then proceeded to charge me for a utility dolly that I did not use and again did not discuss this with me prior to charging my card. I had to call Uhual customer service afterwards and it took 30 minutes to get that refunded. Not super pleasant. Check your receipt fully before allowing them to charge."

"The facilities were pretty good, and well kept, I'm a bit frustrated with the staff after I asked them how canceling worked and they incorrectly told me that it would cancel by itself if I don't do auto payment. It now obviously doesn't, and so I had to pay for another month"

"I reserved a storage unit two months in advance, I show up on my move-in date with all my stuff the day before I move cross-country, only to be told that there were no storage units avaliable. Luckily another U-Haul facility had a unit avaliable, but it was more expensive, smaller and less convienient to access. I asked for the price to be mached to the unit I had reserved, but they said they couldn't do anything because prices were set by corporate and best I could do was complain to them. Corporate refused to compensate me in any way. Terriable customer experience!"
