"Dr. Thomson is fantastic. I was initially diagnosed with nonseminoma stage 1B testicular cancer by my urologist. Following surgical removal of the offending testicle (orchiectomy), my urologist insisted that I did not need to see an oncologist because a very high percentage of testicular cancer patients are cured of their cancer via orchiectomy alone (he was referring to seminoma patients, not nonseminoma). Becoming skeptical of this after researching my recurrence chances, I went to Dr. Thomson for a consultation. Dr. Thomson performed every test he could think of which included everything from tumor markers to checking thyroid function. He concluded that I had been misdiagnosed and that I actually had micrometastisis (the cancer had spread on a microscopic level, undetectable by CT scans). Because of this, instead of visiting my urologist again in 2 months to see if the cancer had been completely removed in surgery, Dr. Thomson insisted 3 rounds of chemotherapy begin immediately. He moved so quickly that I finished 2 rounds of chemotherapy (3 weeks per round) before my next urologist check up was supposed to take place. Dr. Thomson moved quickly and aggressively to give me the best chances of being cured. I've now completed my chemotherapy and am beginning surveillance with blood work showing a reduction in my cancer! Dr. Thomson saved my life and I cannot overstate my appreciation for his excellent bedside manner, vast oncological knowledge/experience and determination to do everything he can in the interest of curing his patients. Thank you, Dr. Thomson. Five stars."

"I cannot say enough good about Dr Nick Thomson. He was so great to listen to and answer all my questions and concerns during every visit. He communicated clearly the things I needed to know about my treatments. I always felt well taken care of by him and his absolutely wonderful staff of nurses who administered my treatments. I felt I was in the BEST of hands during a very hard time. He quite literally saved my life and I recommend him highly!"

"Doctor Thomson is a fantastic Oncologist. He takes ample time to explain everything. From genetic studies, oncotype, lab results, and potential side effects from chemotherapy. My first consult with him lasted about an hour. His breadth of knowledge was very apparent. He was capable of answering every question and concern that we had. I feel very fortunate to have found such a kind caring physician. I know he always has my best interests in mind when he prescribes my chemotherapy and other adjuvant medications and treatments. He stays up to date on newest treatments and presents them in a manner that I can understand. Being diagnosed with cancer at a young age really traumatized me! I started to question everything in my life. I no longer trusted myself. When it came time to choose what type of hormone blockers, I froze. I had an extremely hard time making that choice. Mercifully, Dr Thomson personally called me and counseled again regarding the benefits, risks, etc. He helped me make a choice, and comforted me with a second option if the side effects become unbearable. Nothing is easy about cancer. Knowing that Dr Thomson has everything covered makes treatment tolerable. His bedside manner is fantastic! My husband (also a physician) and myself were instantly at ease during my first consult."

"Dr Thomson was well prepared and thorough. Even though this was his first time meeting with me, he had studied my case history in detail, which immediately gave me great confidence in him. He was empathetic to my struggles, and scientific in his analysis of how to go forward. He was not rushed, answering all my questions — even some I didn’t ask! He gave me a lot of helpful information to help me understand what was happening in my situation. I can only hope that every cancer patient receives this quality of care!"
