"When this was a military post in the early 1970s, it was more often just called The Parade Ground. Anytime there was a special event that included a need for the Army marching band or a presentation of colors, etc., it was practiced here over and over again. There was a tall flagpole near the road, and every morning they put up the flag and played Reveille, and at sundown they took down the flag and played Taps. That's one of the things I miss most about living there."
