Built in 1902 by Thomas and Jennie Kearns, prominent figures in Park City's silver mining industry, the mansion showcases exquisite craftsmanship and materials from around the world.
Thomas Kearns, who was later elected to the U.S. Senate, and his wife Jennie raised their family in this grand home and were known for their philanthropic efforts in the community. After Thomas Kearns passed away, Jennie Kearns generously donated the mansion to the state with the requirement that it be used as the governor's residence.
Visitors can explore the Governor's Mansion on public tours held on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m. Registration can be done through preservationutah.org. Don't miss the opportunity to step back in time and admire the beauty and history of this iconic Utah landmark.

"It had been under renovation for a long time. It’s cool to see the mansion without all of the scaffolding strewn about. They have lovely Christmas parties here. Holiday get togethers. I love seeing this mansion decorated with tinsel & holly. I also love to see this mansion basking in the setting summer sun. I have never been inside, but if I ever do get a chance to find my way into one of the Christmas parties, I will say, “Shine your shoes governor?” With the heaviest English accent I can muster."
"Outstandingly Beautiful Grounds! Flowers should be in full Bloom by the end of the month! Soooo Beautiful it makes you want to Cry! Architecture of the building is of a older more Elaborate Time, Beautiful all the way around! Cool comfortable walk around the front of the building. A veritable Peace Garden!!!"

From downtown SLC it's a beautiful stroll down this street where you'll find lots more of historical, interesting buildings and Mansions!"
"I took a tour of the governors mansion June of 2018. Beautiful architect, beautiful home inside, I wish we could have seen more of the home such as the ballroom (top floor)and perhaps a design, sketch or floor plan of the 2nd floor- the private residence of the Governor, because the tour was too short. Also, we did not get a tour of the yard, and I felt rushed to leave otherwise I would have taken a picture of me outside because taking pictures inside the mansion is not allowed."
