About the Business

Lost Creek State Park

Lost Creek State Park, located in Croydon, Utah, United States, is a stunning natural wonder with 67 monolithic stone spires known as sedimentary pipes. These unique formations accentuate the multihued sandstone layers that reveal 180 million years of geologic history. The area was named Kodachrome by a National Geographic Society expedition in 1948 due to its vibrant colors and beauty.

Visitors to Lost Creek State Park can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding on backcountry trails offering breathtaking views of lake and island scenery. Primitive campsites are available for those looking to spend a night under the star-filled sky, and sandy beaches invite relaxation and swimming in the lake's salty waters. History buffs can also explore the Historic Fielding Garr Ranch for a glimpse into the past.

In addition to Lost Creek State Park, the Heber Valley offers three distinct recreation areas - Hailstone, Rock Cliff, and Ross Creek - along the shores of Jordanelle Reservoir. These areas provide opportunities for picnicking, camping, boating, and hiking, making them ideal destinations for a day or weekend getaway.

With so many State Parks to explore in Utah, visitors are encouraged to discover the beauty and history found throughout the state. Whether it's camping, hiking, boating, or simply enjoying the great outdoors, Utah State Parks offer a wide variety of activities for all to enjoy.

Make sure to reserve a campsite at one of the 2000 Utah State Park campsites for a memorable outdoor experience. And congratulations to Scott Strong, the new Utah Division of State Parks director, appointed by the Utah Department of Natural Resources. With his leadership, visitors can look forward to continued excellence in preserving and showcasing the natural beauty of Utah's State Parks.

"Great state park and reservoir. Does require a $10 fee and closes at 10pm. No services close so be prepared. Cell signal is also low to non-existent depending on carrier."

"A hidden gem that is getting better. They recently opened a 5-site campground called Francis Cove with a $20 fee to stay the night. Cows do walk around the place and a couple were near the campsites. You get a table and firepit. No trash bins around except at the dam and boat ramp so people need to bag trash. Wasn't busy whatsoever and they recently repaved the entire road to the park. Very nice road to the park now. Boat ramp road could use a bit of work though. I had a nice visit and look forward to camping here sometime."

"Fishing is amazing most of the time if you can get up there early. Not meaning this rude at all as it gets closer to noon pattleboading and recreational activities kinda push fisherman off the water. I'm afraid to say it's going to turn into a Causey situation. Fishing is going to get harder and harder I'm afraid."

"Water is low. I thought there would be a charge since it is a 'State Park' but there was none. The road does not go around the entire lake so there is limited shore access."
