"If you have to visit the emergency room, I hope you get the pleasure of having Dr. Bleazard at your bedside. He performed a spinal tap on our youngest because of his signs and symptoms of meningitis. He was very informative during the whole process. Even when he was drawing spinal fluid, he vocalized his opinion on the visual diagnosis in the color of the fluid, explaining that it looked clear of infection. Luckily our little guy didn’t have meningitis, but Dr. Bleazard wasn’t taking the risk of sending an 18 month old home without checking. This is a problem that is found most common in medicine; doctors are either in too big of a hurry or allow their ego to direct their job. As for Bleazard, he is professional, genuinely concerned, and a doctor you want when you need one."

"If you have an emergency, you are much better off going to a quick care or driving to St George. The staff that check you in at Emergency Registration have horrid bedside manner. My brother was presenting with symptoms of a stroke, so we rushed him to this ER. We were the only ones in the waiting room, but had waited about 10-15 minutes after check in with complete silence from the registration staff. He was in immense pain, so I asked the woman who checked him in on clarification on what exactly we were waiting on and if we could get an approximate time of when he would get back to see the doctor. The woman then told me the back was full and that's why it was taking longer. She then followed with laughing at my question with the comment of, "well he's breathing right now, so we'll get him back when we can." As I was extremely upset with her extremely unprofessional response to my brother's immense pain, I began to walk away. As soon as I turned my back, my other family members watched her roll her eyes at me and snicker to the co-worker next to her. And if that was not awful enough, after 5 minutes, my family and I noticed 2 security guards walk out from the back and made a very sarcastic comment to the ER registration worker on how "full" they were tonight. Then proceeded to stare right at us. I am pretty clueless how individuals like this are able to work in an emergency room. But what I do know is that their behavior was absolutely unacceptable."

"I’ll start out with the fact that the check in process is most definitely a pain in the butt, it’s long and some questions should just have an “I don’t know” option instead of just yes and no, but I did receive some help finishing the questions from a very kind desk attendant. As for everything else my care and experience was excellent. I went to check in at same day surgery after the initial check in was over and while waiting for a desk attendant there my situation changed and I was quickly and expertly taken over to the emergency department after passing out in the waiting area. The doctors and nurses were amazing, once conscious they kept me talking and the anesthesiologist and my surgeon arrived to give me a brief rundown of what needed to happen, the surgery went well and they saved my life. Once I was in the recovery stages the hospital staff (volunteers, technicians, and nurses) were kind and patient while they did their jobs excellently, they advocated for me when I needed another blood transfusion and the phlebotomists were amazing at their job. My surgeon checked on me multiple times and made sure I was good to go, i was discharged when I was ready and wasn’t rushed out the door. Thank you IHC cedar city hospital for all you did for me, and thank you doctor Heath for rushing over to the hospital ASAP to perform the surgery several hours earlier than planned!"

"Wonderful hospital from what I saw. Staff were very helpful but somewhat lackluster. A young employee in the lab was playing on her phone, didn't seem like she had much to do. But a pregnant lady walking in seemed like she was having a great time with her treatment here so those that work more with patients seem to be doing a great job!"

"I had a same day surgery on my leg here and it was a great experience as far as medical procedures go. I have also brought family members here numerous times and we are always treated with respect and made to feel that we really do matter to the staff. I prefer to go to Cedar City Hospital over any other hospital in the area because of this. They really are a great group of people that want to take care of you!"
