"Love Uptown! I do at least 2 purges of clothes a year and love being able to consign at Uptown knowing the remaining will be donated. The clothes on the rack are always in great condition for being used, they don’t have that lingering ‘thrift’ smell (iykyk). My only criticism is their service, there always seems to be 4 people working on one person, the employees don’t make eye contact (not a crime). Sometimes I choose to go to SLC for better customer service."

"A lot of people complain about this store not giving enough money and while I do see the frustrations, I’ve been selling here for years and it’s definitely a gamble on what they can buy. I try to go in with low expectations and tend to average $40-$50 per buy with in store credit plus you get 10% off for selling to them. I personally understand the process and how they also need to make money from buying our clothes. My best advice here is to think of it as a trade instead of instant cash. I come here to buy clothes with the money I make and it almost always evens out. Like today i bought 3 outfits for $6 with my in store credit and to me that feels like a win."

"This place is a decent idea in theory, but is absolutely terrible in execution. It’s basically a giant racket as a seller. First of all, be prepared to have a tremendous amount of your time wasted. As they review your clothing, you are not allowed to leave the store or you forfeit the ability to make a decision regarding any offer that they make you. This means that you will sit there for at least 45 minutes to an hour while they try to peer pressure you into buying other items in the store While you wait. They will also tell you that they only take items three years or less from purchase. This is not only nonsensical, it’s categorically untrue. They refused items of mine that were newer than that, but took items that were older than that. It doesn’t even make any sense if you have a basic item like jeans or black pants… No one cares whether it was purchased three or four years ago. Items that were new with tags were refused, purely because someone subjectively thought they were too old. All in all, I regret wasting my time here for a company with policies like this that make no sense and feel like are designed to rip off sellers. If you have decent clothes that you don’t want to just throw away, I would suggest trying a website like Poshmark, instead, where you are likely to get a much more fair assessment, and return for your items."
