Waffle Love - American Fork

"Never to return. Walked in and the staff saw us but completely ignored us. In fact, the only employee at the front turned their back to us (see photo). Stood there with nobody else in line for 5 minutes. I don’t care if there’s a kiosk. If a customer walks in, acknowledge them and help them out. Bad first impression. Also noticed that the restaurant was filthy. Tables not cleaned, garbage on the floor. After someone finally came to take our order we went to get utensils to find dirty and disgusting silverware that looke like it had just been used. Second bad impression. Then I heard my name called and when I stood up to get our order, one of the staff was already walking over so I sat back down. The employee slid the food at us so hard that we had to catch it to stop it from falling off the table and she walked away. The overall presentation and taste of the food was marginal. There was nothing special about this menu. Everything they make, I could make at home for 2% of the cost of what Waffle Love is charging. At the end of the day this location sells overpriced and disappointing food coupled with disgustingly unprofessional service and a filthy restaurant atmosphere."

"Just letting the group know that our experience vibes with the majority of the one and two star reviews; minus the cooked-in hair thing that two other unfortunate reviewer experienced. Also, I identified a possible cause for the food poisoning experience of two others. (See uncooked egg white in pics). I have no aversion to consuming un/under cooked eggs. However, if the food preperation occurs in the unsanitary conditions that many reviewers have alluded to, then something like salmonella poisioning is totally possible. We experienced the service on par as many of the other dissatisfied suggest. Bottom line: the negative impression that many have experienced at this location isn't the cause of several unrelated things. It's not the employees, unsanitary food preperation, or the stickiness that seems to pervade on all the flat surfaces. Management, or the lack thereof is the cause and solution to that place. "We love this place. The American Fork location has the best service. Every time we come here, our waffles have the freshest fruit. The avocado toast is to die for! Lightly salted and on Croissant dough- it’s my go-to comfort meal. The chicken and waffles are really good here too. Just an added snip it- they have fresh flowers on every table with an attached business card. If you like the flowers, you can Venmo them and take the flowers with you."

"We went and got three waffles. They gave us one fairly quickly and we waited a good 15-20 minutes for the other two. They were all pretty good. We ordered The dulce, the banana foster, and the red wonder. The ice cream was solid frozen. We asked for all three to stay, but they brought the two we waited for for a while in a to go box. As we opened the banana foster, the bananas didn’t have much flavor and had little black bits. My son was eating the ice cream and got an onion in his vanilla ice cream. When he asked the employees about it, they said they must have been prepping stuff… they didn’t do anything about it other than shrug. We walked in and weren’t really greeted. When we went to find a table, all of the tables were dirty except for one in the sun. My husband finally wiped one off a bit so we didn’t have to sit in the sun anymore. I love waffle love, but this was not the greatest experience."
