"If you’re looking for medical providers who are are more antiquated in their practice of medicine-go here. So if you’ve got diabetes or other standard medical concern this may be a good clinic. But if you’re needing a generalist PCP with a modernized medical practice, then run, don’t walk, to another uchealth location. You’re not encountering a confident modern generalist provider at the Cherry Creek location when you meet w/Dr Julia Kavanaugh. She was professional/kept her cool and had her elevator speech memorized about how she doesn’t prescribe psychotropic medications, opting to refer to behavioral health providers who collect initial data then you’re referred to the one floating psychiatrist who will refill your meds. This is something commonly seen with the older generation or more conservative medical providers who are still working as PCPs but refuse to refill standard psychotropic medications because they “aren’t comfortable” prescribing . These med providers have older training, don’t have a strong understanding of how these medicines work (ie they’re not modern medical generalists). I have a historical diagnosis of two common mental health concerns and the doctor refused to refill my meds. The one med she finally agreed to refill, she gave me the lowest dose so I have essentially only two weeks of meds left and now have to wait 4 months to establish care with another primary care provider (whom a friend recommended at another Uc health location). I waited three weeks to see Dr.Julia Kavanugh, don’t waste your time here if you’re looking for a PCP who is comfortable managing your whole mind/body concerns and can refill standard psychotropic medications. Dr. Kavanaugh assured me everyone at her practice utilizes the behavioral health team and floating psychiatrist the same way she does, dissuading me from simply transferring to another provider at that location. And when I called to reschedule at another location the receptionist confirmed how at Cherry Creek Dr Kavanaugh and team are known not to treat the whole mind/body as generalist, routinely not prescribing for their patients with primary mental health concerns. Referring clients out for this reason is not uncommon for Dr.Kavanaugh and team. Wish I had known, would’ve immediately scheduled elsewhere. Shame on you Cherry Creek location for making your patients jump through hoops to get their mental health needs met. Shaming people for requesting refill of medications to treat historical diagnoses is all too common with medical providers who have outdated medical training. Hopefully this reviews saves people time and offers concrete feedback on the importance of ongoing professional education."

"UCHealth Steele Street is the office of my healthcare provider, Julia Kavanagh. I have been a patient for several years. I have always loved the care I receive from Dr Kavanagh. Last week I got COVID. After a home test that was positive, I called the office and found she was unavailable that day. I was seen by Kaitlyn Wadman, PAC via televisit. The experience was great. The “exam” was thorough and the treatment successful. I am very pleased with the care from this provider!!"

"I called Monday at 9 am having realized I had lost the prophylactic meds I take with me for traveling to South America (a prescription in their records) and told the receptionist I was leaving Thursday morning. He said he'd mark it priority. Wednesday morning I get a voicemail to call the office and then get told to make an appointment to see the doctor. I am leaving at 9 am! This is not quality, responsive care."

"My visit could’ve been better. This was my first primary care appointment after a incident that I had at my workplace. Dr. Emily came and look at me clueless, like she didn’t know what I’m here for after I just told her assistant about my incident. I agree what the Dr. is explaining to me but, she could’ve been more attentive and be a listening ear. I would’ve been more appreciative if she ask me how my day was like a friendly interaction but I don’t get any of that kind of service from there. Her first assistant she was not friendly, and seems like she’s impatient and ready to leave. She was asking all the health questions went back and grab the tetanus shot and didn’t explain to me what it is and how it becoming beneficial. She was making me anxious All she was worried about the needle, then she’s quick to put it as a refusal. Dr. Emily came back then I ask her questions then she explains to me what it was. Her second assistant name Kyla. She was so sweet and patient and kind. I would definitely give her a 5 star review because she made me feel comfortable. We need more people like her in the healthcare."

"Dr. Harrison is great. Very thorough and personable. He took time to explain things but also didn’t waste time with too much chit chat. His professional staff was great too (though the front desk reception room staff was not so great - very gruff and condescending). All in all my experience here as outstanding."
