"Horrible place to Live! A truck stop bathroom would be a better place to live than here. Their always Dog Feces by the door. The hallways smells horrible like a foul odor. Maintenance doesn't come and fix anything for months and months on end you better youtube how to fix it yourself. They won't show up until 5 months later to fix anything. Office never answers their phone. I always thought highly if this place . Yes, it looks beautiful on the outside but don't go off based off those looks. If your okay with bugs coming into your apartment and cold air coming through your window and having busted windows and dog Feces all over the place and paying a month for nothing to be fixed then this place is right up your alley."
"My husband and I have lived at Northgate for over two years now, and they recently hired a new leasing agent, Vee who has completely blown us away with how amazing she is. In the past with other leasing agents at the complex we have had so much trouble getting basic communication on issues both big and small. At the end of our lease we were seriously contemplating even ending our time here. Vee however, has come in and changed everything. No matter what we've needed she has gone above and beyond, she always gets back to us on anything we need, and is even proactive at reaching out to us!! (which is a first here for sure haha) Recently a new property management company bought the complex, and I will say you can tell they are slowly but surely trying to go through and make improvements to the complex. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that the inside of the actual units need some updates. I know during the boom complexes were built very quickly, but now years later some of the issues are really starting to show. I really cannot stress enough how amazing Vee has been compared to the staff of previous years. Also, the maintenance team they have now is amazing! The younger gentleman on the team has been here since we moved in and he throughout the years has truly been one of the biggest helps! He is always so kind, gets things fixed so quickly, and truly goes above and beyond, even coming and helping us when it means he has to work late! (I wish so badly I could remember his name!) I really hope the current owners of this complex realize how much of the success of this complex falls on Vee and the maintenance team! I cannot sing their praises enough! I give Vee and the maintenance team five stars!!!"
"I am a travel nurse and needed a temporary place to stay last winter. The model apartment that they showed me looked nice so I went with it. What a big mistake. The night I moved in my heat wasn’t working and the pipes were frozen. They were able to get the heat working quickly. When I called the office the next day to tell them that the water wasn’t working except for the kitchen sink, I asked them how long it would be before my water was working again. Justine, the manager told me, “however long it takes to thaw out, this is North Dakota the pipes freeze.” I am from Wisconsin, and I’ve never stayed in place where the pipes froze. Probably due to better construction. I then asked her, how long I would have to be without water before the apartment was considered uninhabitable. She came back at me with “the apartment is not considered uninhabitable if the water is working in your kitchen .” I asked her are you expecting me to bathe in the kitchen?! They knowingly let me move into an apartment when others were also having problems with pipes freezing. Justine told me that they had just cleaned the apartment the day before and that the water was working then. That was a flat out lie, there were dead bugs all over the floor, and in the bathtub and sink. I still have the pictures. if somebody was in there the day before and cleaned the bathtub and sink there would not be dead bugs. Mind you, it’s winter. The place probably hadn’t been cleaned since it was warmer out when bugs were still alive. There were no solutions or concessions whatsoever. I even escalated to a more senior person in the company, who I believe instructed Justine to tell me the apartment was considered inhabitable and if choose not to pay rent I could go to court! These people are a bunch of snakes. This was the worst dump I’ve ever stayed in in my life. It was loud, there was dog feces everywhere, and it stunk. There was a glass outside the front door of my apartment, which I sent a message to the office about. They didn’t remove the glass until three months later. This place is garbage!i"
"DO NOT EVER RENT HERE! IF YOU GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT, DO NOT CLEAN WHEN YOU LEAVE!!! I spent all day cleaning my apartment when I moved out, and they took my $399 security deposit and charged $80 on top of that. I went above and beyond to clean that apartment; changed the air filters, bought new stove burner covers, put wood floor protectant down, ect. Do not waste your time and effort cleaning anything, as you WILL NOT GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK. They will absolutely screw you out of it regardless. Oh, and don't forget that they messed up when our move in date was supposed to be, there were gunshots fired on the premises several times in the year we stayed there, dog poop EVERYWHERE on the grounds, not enough parking and they'll tow your vehicles when you're having to make your own parking space after 7 PM. This place is a mess and I would've never rented here if I had had the time to find somewhere else."
"One word: ghetto. Apartment looks nice in pictures but in reality it has cheap construction & materials. When we moved in there was laminate missing from the countertops in spots and a sink was stained. Constant construction, painting, and parking lot maintenance makes it very noisy and they have you park your vehicles on the other side of the complex when it’s being done or else they will tow your vehicle. NO ELEVATORS, which means you haul groceries up, & have to haul garbage down and across the complex to get rid of. EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE doesn’t answer calls to fix anything - I had to fix my own furnace when it was -20 outside (Bad sensor). Also, my cheaply installed blinds have fallen down 3x now. I finally JB welded the screws into the door myself to hold it in place. WINDOWS DO NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY. I had to buy plastic and cover the windows so it would stay warm in the winter. There is a gap in the patio door that I had to buy extra weather stripping for to prevent the cold wind from coming in. NOT ENOUGH PARKING. No assigned parking or garages. They won’t make a waiting list which means they give nearby garages to new residents first. (We had to pay for a garage in front of a different apartment unit.) Most garage doors are smashed in but they don’t replace them. Hallways stink & have stains everywhere. I’ve seen dog poop/pee in the hallways and stairwells but they don’t shampoo the carpeting. They only mop stairs & vacuum once a week. Doors are all broken - they don’t close all the way, or they slam super hard when they shut. Definitely a fire code violation to have broken doors. Neighbors smoke weed everyday and it comes into our spare bathroom."
