"I was referred to Mama Hood by a friend, and it's been a game changer in becoming a new mama. Amanda Ogden came to our house and did a lactation consult that blew my mind. She's absolutely an expert and so clear, and hilarious, in how she explains everything. My husband and I learned a ton (he was very impressed) and the best part was the custom advice she tailored to our lifestyle and baby needs. I will absolutely be working with her further and using more of their resources. Every mama deserves this type of support from the start."

"I tell every person I know who is about to have a baby about the mama 'hood. I worked with Kristin when my son was about 4 weeks old and I was still struggling with aspects of breastfeeding. She came to my home, was so understanding, thorough and encouraging. She put us on a new direction in our journey, recommended bodyworkers for my son, and gave me resources for oral ties, breastfeeding positions and approaches that I'd not been given after 3 separate hospital and clinic lactation appointments. I felt instantly comfortable with her at our initial and follow up consult. She has since answered multiple questions over the months via email and been so helpful and supportive. I'm so so thankful to live in a city where this place exists as a resource for new parents."

"My midwife recommended me their lactation service after I gave birth last year. The shop is cute and front desk seemed friendly. The owner seemed nice. I think she is blunt and delivers message without thinking too much about what this new mother might think which is totally fine for some mothers. Any new mothers who are dealing with this new lifestyle and they would do anything for this tiny humans who depended on them 24/7. I think we want little more compassion in general (not to mention about hormone running all over our body). I’m very thankful for the owner because she told me how important it is for us to get my daughter’s tongue tie released and why it is important if we want to have natural breastfeeding experience. I did my own research after that and we ended up going with a really good male doctor she and my daughter’s pediatrician recommended. I only went to one consultation at mamahood because I did not feel good (May be you can say I get attacked who knows could be my hormone that’s why I decided to write this review over a year later). We are still nursing strong at 14 months (I was not able to do that with my son, I barely made it to 1 year). I hope this post will help another new mother."

"First of all, I want to mention how cute this shop is. It’s bright and clean and the staff are always so nice. In addition to having an adorable selection of maternity clothes- seriously going in makes me want to get pregnant again just so I can shop there- they have a delightful alcove of toys my son adores. I’ve been taking my almost 2 year old son to Toddler and Momma yoga on Friday mornings for almost 6 months and we love it! I my past before baby life I went to yoga classes several times a week, but now that I have a little guy and limited childcare, I’ve had to content myself to my daily quick morning practice. Although it’s not the same as an adult class, it’s a great opportunity to introduce a little one to yoga, and as mine says, “see babies and mommies” (and sometimes daddies too). I always appreciate how Miss Casey, the instructor, sets a casual, fun mood for the class with fun songs and movement for the kids. My son likes it too, and lately has been peppering our days with his favorite snippets from class, and ever time we drive by The Mama’hood, he points and says his name, followed by mommy go yoga. Which, when you’re not quite 2, is a 5 star review for sure."

"I did my first Mommy & Me baby yoga class with Rachel yesterday and it was everything I hoped for! Rachel was patient and understanding of the babies needs and lead a consistent flow the entire class. She radiates beautiful and positive energy and we can’t wait for our next class!! The class started with some mama salutations followed by baby lifts paired with poses. The end of the class included interactive songs and it was the sweetest thing! Thank you for such a wonderful experience."
