"I should preface this by saying you should never do this to your maids, nor expect this much from them. That said Brooklyn and Mattie from Merry Maids are AMAZING. Here's the story. My washing machine broke, flooding the back of my house, so I had to move everything onto the floor in the kitchen. I decided to try and fix it myself and mangled my hand. With only one hand, I resorted to freezer food and was less than tidy about taking out the trash or doing the dishes. My house was a horrifying disaster. It smelled. There was a mixture of trash and belongings piled on every horizontal surface. I was ashamed to even be in it. Then came cleaning day and I had loaned out the spare key and the maids couldn't get in. I sent my brother with a spare to meet them. When I got home, I was shocked. Not only had they cleaned the house, they had organized all the stuff from my utility room, and in the time they were waiting, they cleaned up all the trash that had accumulated in my yard. To top it off, they had clearly taken the time to get to know me. The work uniform I had left crumpled on the floor was neatly laid out on a freshly made bed. The random books I left around were organized and stacked next to my reading chair (how they knew it was my reading chair and not just some chair is beyond me). They even put the cat's blanket near the window so she could look outside. I've never felt so well taken care of. And best of all, I really shouldn't have been so surprised. Their work is always this good. I highly recommend Merry Maids."

"Our regular cleaning service was not available in the timeframe we needed so my husband hired Merry Maids of Lakewood for a move-in cleaning for our 2-bed, 1-bath, 1000SF duplex. The price of $300 was twice what we typically pay (was told this is an office minimum charge) but was assured that we would get our money’s worth. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I wont go into ALL the details…well, I will mention that they left a big black hair in the bathroom sink! When I called the office to complain, the original crew was sent back, and I quickly realized the problem. This office of Merry Maids uses only “green” cleaning products, a fact not disclosed to me when I agreed to the service. No soap, no sponges with abrasive sides, no stainless steel polish were used…all I saw was vinegar, orange micro-fiber rags and a few magic erasers. Really? How is ANYONE supposed to do a deep clean without soap? Nothing sparkled, nothing shined, and nothing could be scrubbed, despite the efforts of the crew, who diligently tried to please this upset customer. Realizing they were unequipped for the job, I thanked them and let them go home. Tonight, my husband and I are going back to the duplex to clean it ourselves. We will bring disinfecting cleaners, a bucket, a mop and do a good old-fashioned deep cleaning. We will do this because our tenants are important to us, and they deserve a clean place to move into – a vision apparently not shared by Merry Maids of Lakewood. Totally disappointing…..and a huge rip off."

"BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS IS THE BIGGEST RIP OFF I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE! THEY TAKE YOUR CREDIT CARD BEFORE THEY DO THE JOB, SO THEY DON'T GIVE A FLYING FLIP IF THE JOB IS DONE WELL OR NOT. I had hoped that Merry Maids would make my home shine for the open house that my realtor was holding on Saturday. They were scheduled to clean on Wednesday and I paid $433.00 to have my home ready to put on the market. I bought a whole lot of nothing for $433.00! The two women that came to my home didn't even lift the toilet lids when "cleaning" the bathrooms. They did not clean the baseboards and I had to ask them 4 times to wash my bathroom floor and they still didn't do what I had asked them. I finally gave up. I went over and checked the mantel above my fireplace and my finger came out with dust. One of the women was standing right next to me when I did this and I looked at her and her response was, "oh, I dusted the other side." Seriously! I asked them to dust the vertical blinds on my sliding glass door downstairs and she didn't do it. I was so disgusted that I called Wells Fargo to stop payment on my credit card. I wanted to dispute the charge but Wells Fargo finally had to pay it out. AS I WROTE ABOVE, "BUYER BEWARE!" ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER THEY COULD CARE LESS IF THE JOB IS DONE WELL OR NOT. I PAID $433,00 FOR NOTHING. My daughter and I had to reclean the house to have it ready for the first showing on Friday. NEVER AGAIN! FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU, FOOL ME TWICE SHAME ON ME."

"Very first time using a cleaning service. I called and set up the service. The girls came out, did a good job but were only there for 1.5 hours .... Checked my bank account and they pulled out the money for 3 hours. When I called to ask about this they said "Oh we will issue you a credit but it will take 5 or 6 days" ..... really??? 5 or 6 days for me to get MY money back that you SHOULDNT have pulled until the JOB WAS DONE??? Keep track of your time .. and check your bank account."
