"I needed a quick cut one morning, and Jerry’s was the only shop open, so I stopped by. I saw Jerry outside and asked a polite question about the type of cuts he provides. He was rude and condescending. I assumed Jerry was having a bad day. Not having any other options and a limited amount of time, I decided to stay and get a haircut that turned out to be decent and affordable. Since I was satisfied with the haircut, I decided to return a few weeks later and give Jerry another chance. As I walked in, I saw Jerry working on a client, so I sat down and waited my turn. I was immediately and loudly scolded for not following directions Jerry thought he posted on the door, asking customers to take a number and wait in their car. Jerry realized he made a mistake and forgot to post the directions, and gave a halfhearted apology. Not willing to pay Jerry another cent, I got in my car and went to another barber. I do not believe he was having a bad day. In my opinion he is racist. If you are a person of color, consider yourself warned about his disrespectful behavior towards us and find a different barber."

"My good friend and stylist had recently passed away. He used to cut my son's hair. So I was on a quest to find another very experienced person to cut my son's hair. I read some reviews of other local barber /beauty shops, and this seemed to fit what I was looking for. Jerry was great with my 4 year old. He was fast, and personable. He listened when I said short on the sides but to keep my sons curls on top. Jerry is a dying breed when it comes to real Barbers. My son was happy, he felt safe, and so we will be returning as long as Jerry is here. He's been barbering at this location for FIFTY years. This place feels like you're stepping into a time capsule. For those of you contemplating coming here for the first time: Due to covid, you have to pull a number from the outside and wait in your car. He displays the number in the window so you already know how long the wait is. You enter with your mask when it's your turn. It's a good system. Also, it's cash only, so don't forget to bring cash and tip. It's $13 for kids cuts. I just gave him a $20."
