"Eric Smith enrolled me into my health plan initially in 2013, hence I have been a 'Client' of his for going on over 10 years. However, I realized back around 2018-2019 communication just stopped with his group. This was not a main concern as the health plan my family and I are on just auto enroll into Anthem as Anthem takes control in suggesting the next years comparable health plan. However, a friend recently mentioned that I qualify for substantial monthly premium discounts after my income qualifications. After researching this, I realized I have been shorted thousands of dollars over the years as a result of overpaying my monthly premiums at market rate (no adjustment based off income). My Anthem site dashboard states Eric Smith's group was still listed as my broker - although his group has not reached out to me once since (best guess 2018). Meaning, Anthem sends them their 'service fee' for my plan even though they have done nothing to support me. I understand a portion of this error could have been solved sooner if I reached out to Eric's group - however, I was unaware of any allowable income credits & being a service provider who is compensated for services, the responsibility is on the service provider - not the client who does not deal with insurance on a daily basis. Really disappointed in this group and the reaction I received from whoever answers the phones at Erics office as she was less than helpful and yes, she did confirm I was still listed as Eric's 'Client'. I recommend anyone using this group confirm they have in fact been in contact with you and not just added to a list and forgot about. There are lots of brokers out there - ensure you pick one who will work with Your best interest at heart."
