The newer, more modern layout of City Market South beats out the dated feel of the other location. While there are occasional aisle blockers, most shoppers are considerate. While there have been some stock shortages in recent months, they typically offer a solid variety of common food categories. Their gluten-free selection has improved over the years, showing a commitment to meeting diverse dietary needs. Prices are reasonable, and even lean towards being budget-friendly. The atmosphere at City Market South is undeniably pleasant. The positive energy is evident, and the staff exude warmth and hospitality. The floral department deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to help me get flowers to my mom for Mother's Day. It's acts like these that truly make a difference. Whenever I'm in Montrose, this City Mart is a must-stop. It brings back memories of my favorite hometown grocery stores, and that's something I really appreciate. My service dog and I always feel welcome here. Lastly, the staff at City Market South are true gems. "Love the store but now 5 different times after work around 7pm they never have anyone serving fried chicken. Finally.... last Thursday leaving work I knew not to go but said I will give them one more chance and sure enough a line of people waiting and so did I over 15 minutes and not 1 person serving. At least 5 people walked out. Very poorly managed deli. Staff in produce looking and laughing. Worst management ever and shame as chicken so good. I took 3 pics while waiting and 3-4 people in line and not 1 staff member. This was about 5th time I saw this around 7pm."
