"Silberstein to be a breath of fresh air. Not only was he well versed in his field, he was also patient, and informative. He took the time to answer our questions, and thoroughly explained our game plan concerning the bloodclots in my leg, as well as the genetic clotting anomalties that I have. He was very friendly and presented as if I were his only patient( he did not come off as being rushed for time) Unlike most other Drs I have seen in the past. I would highly recommend him!!"

"I was referred to CHI Hematology Oncology by my PCP as my mother had been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that I now needed to get tested for. I have a lot of the symptoms for being a carrier, my children also have symptoms. I've also struggled with anemia a good portion of my life to the point where I almost had to get a blood transfusion a few years back. I expressed my concerns to Dr.Silberstein and told him I was here for the genetic testing, as my last bloodtest had shown my hemoglobin levels are slightly back in the normal range due to me increasing my iron supplements. He then acted skeptical that my mom could have this genetic disease, even though she was diagnosed with it. He then refused to do the genetic blood test on me without her records/test proving she had it, as if I were lying about all of this, like I don't have anything better to do with my time, then wrote in my chart notes that I'm male(last I checked I've always been 100% female)and not anemic, which if he would have looked at my chart/history it shows I've battle with anemia for years, even my results with this past year show that. He is smug and treats pt's like they are stupid. Do not recommend, find a doctor that will listen to your concerns and offer solutions."

"Starts out great especially if you are responding. Very caring and encouraging. But as soon as your response is grim and treatments aren't helping at all- not and empathy or encouragement at all, PA talks to you more then he does, and he may not say 5 words to you. I dont know if he take it as a personal attack on him as a dr or what if your dying and getting worse as time goes on. But certainly not a very good attitude for a patient, or their greiving family. Because with a terminal illness you already are greiving."
