"So I worked here mid September and I ended up staying for 2 days because I didn’t feel like it was very good. I heard a teacher in one of the toddler rooms yelling at the kids and ignored the kids unless they were doing something she didn’t like. It was kind of a mess on the diaper change table and area around it. I also got left in the classroom without another teacher so I was not in ratio for 5-7 minutes. And I felt like I was being cornered when I wanted to leave. I also got dirty looks from one of the teachers. Please don’t bring your kids here."

"I was a worker here. I left when my coworkers made a fake phone number to tell me I should off myself and they hoped I cut deeper next time. The director at the time told me to just deal with it and she was at dinner with her family, so she didn't care. Along with that, we were told we were not allowed to clock in until x time, but we were also told that we had to be there extra early to get supplies for our classroom. If we clocked in to get the supplies, we would be written up and/or fired. Additionally, we had to clock out at 6 pm, or we would be written up/fired, even if we were still working. We all worked 10 hour days, but we were not allowed to take a break. We were not allowed to use the restroom either. Do not, I repeat, do not trust your kids with any facility with the name Kindercare. I also worked at the other one in north Ankeny. They had the same issues there."

"It took me a while to find the right place for my baby as soon as I walked into this facility (kindercare) I felt welcomed and the kindness from all the staff! Was the best decision I could have ever made! Son comes home singing the ABCs and different songs n he is 2"

"We moved from India to Ankeny and my daughter was a non English speaker 2 5 years old. I really appreciate the efforts the teachers put to comfort her and boost her confidence in a new American environment. Despite some ups and downs in staffing, kindercare and teachers took great care of all the kiddos. I would really recommend this daycare centre to all."

"Loved this center when we first started last year. Loved the teachers, friendly director, updates, activities the kids did, etc but recently it’s really gone downhill. There’s no director and a major staff shortage where my child could only go 3/5 days a week which is not ideal for a parent working full time. Not having a director really shows in the center with the lack of leadership. I was also getting calls almost everyday my child was there for incidents of her falling, or for feeding an infant bbq chicken and then making me come pick her up and keep her out for 24 hours only to find out they were short staffed the following day which I’ve heard is a common excuse used. They also wanted to move my 9 month old into the toddler room due to having to make space for a new baby starting however they can’t even staff for the kids they have. The 8pm messages the night before to keep my child home are also not ideal for a working parent. I enrolled my child in daycare to have reliable childcare during workdays but this is far from reliable. They are struggling with leadership and with that many teachers are leaving causing them to be short staffed. If you need reliable childcare I’d look elsewhere."
