"Our home in Ames, Iowa incurred substantial roof and window damage due to a hailstorm last Spring. Yep … hail in Iowa. I called Pat, and believe it or not, her roof inspector was up on our roof inspecting it the next day. I gave Pat the name of our favorite roofer in the area, and he came out and inspected the roof. Two or three weeks later the roofing crew came out and replaced our old roof, window screens, gutters, and downspouts with new ones. We are very happy homeowners. I’m hoping we don’t have too many more storms like that; but, it is Iowa, and I know that if we do get another big storm, Pat will be there for us."

"I am not sure how to describe my feeling about Mrs. Pat Brown and State Farm. I used to be a State Farm customer for 11 years and she used to by my most trusted person. However, I just quit from State Farm a week ago. Everything was triggered by the house roof claim this year. I had a very rough experience to arguing with their adjuster, even though I have enough evidence. Well, its not Mrs. Brown's fault, but it made me tired and push me to look for quotes from other insurance company. What really surprised me was the quotes I got from other companies comparing with the package Mrs.Brown created to me. In brief, I paid a much higher price for a much worse package. For example, I paid $1400+ house insurance for 2% deductible and other companies offer $1300+ for 0.5% deductible. The deductible is just one of the numbers shocking me, the State Farm package is actually much worse than other offers from every perspectives. To make sure I don't carry any bias to my conclusion, I consulted with two friends, one is ISU Finance professor, the other one is a former insurance agent. They reviewed my State Farm package and pointed out some numbers they don't feel comfortable with. They told me I paid high price for a high Dwelling which only benefits State Farm but not me, and the low personal liability won't save me at all if something bad happened with my fault. I used to trust every words from Mrs. Brown to upgrade my insurance and would love to pay "a little bit" higher price to get fully covered. But now, I only fell betrayed and lost all my faith for State Farm. I transferred all my family's insurances to another big-name company with 25% less payment and a much better coverage. This supposed to be a 1-star review. However, her team did a great job on communication, so I gave a 2-star instead."
