Based on my personal experience, I found that she did not reflect the true essence of aloha and I would strongly discourage placing your trust in her. I would recommend seeking alternative options for your business needs."

"If you want to feel like you are in prison and need a prison guard, Hawaiian Isle RE and Gretchen is a good fit! I rented a unit from her and left it in remarkable, almost untouched conditions. She walked the unit with me at the end of my stay and stated that it was left it good condition meanwhile I had to point out a light that was about to fall from the ceiling during her walk-thru. Once moved out she stated the unit needed repairs which was a shock because it was left it perfect condition. She robbed me of 75% of my security deposit because she knew I was moving off island and she took advantage of that. She did not embody aloha and will do you dirty for her gain do not trust her and take your business elsewhere."

"If you are looking for a top notch realtor who is organized, experienced and responsive, look no further than Gretchen Osgood! I have worked with several realtors on Big Island (and Maui) and bought & sold 7 homes over the years. Gretchen is by far the best! In fact, we were so impressed with her organization as the Seller's agent on a condo we bought (she had the home inspection report, all HOA documents, seller's disclosure in a binder ready for Buyers to review when they say the home) and her professionalism that we jumped at the chance to work with her to sell the condo a few years later. We have a ocean front villa in Portlock and only rented a place to stay while we were doing volunteer work on Big Island. At the end of the term, we washed all sheets and towels, folded, wiped all shelfs, washed, rewashed all dishes.. I did it the way I wanted to be done for me if I would be a lessor. I agree to hire her vendor to make sure it will be up to “her standards”. She charged me $350 for cleaning (she said her cleaning lady changing $35 per hour so it means she cleaned our apartment for 10 hours after we left it clean and ready for easy finishing touches. You look at the photos and decide yourself if it is 10 hours job for basic cleaning. She charged me $649 for carpet and upholstery which were extremely clean, with slightly wear and tear which it common after 12 month lease. She changed me to replace a blind that originally she did not fix when we moved in. She promised to fix it, but never did and at the end of the term, she changed me $118 for it. For the term of lease we ALWAYS paid rent ONTIME and did not miss a single payment. We were looking for a property on Big Island and purchased beautiful house on 7 acres. I knew Gretchen had RE License but not in my scary dream I would see her as my RE agent. The worse representation you can receive on Big Island. I am holding a RE license in state of CA and I based it on professional opinion. Gretchen will make you feel miserable even if she has a slightly chance to do it and will charge you double if she can. You will feel like a teenager under a curfew or a prisoner. It is your call if you want to deal with her and her “5 star” customer service ! Mahalo!"
