"This is our third time staying here. This trip was me, my two daughters and their 3 friends. All between 11-16 years old. The girls walked downtown every morning for açaí bowls, smoothies or shopping. Safeway and other stores are very close too. We stayed for a week and cooked dinner here most nights. The deck has an amazing view and the weather was great. The girls also walked downtown to the volleyball courts at night. With or without me. As a dad, I worry about safety. Kona has always felt super safe to me and my kids. The airport, harbor, beaches, farmers markets, and entertainment are all close by. A simple, clean, cozy rental with everything we need. We will be back."

"I got a last minute booking to Kona, Through Maiilan Hale a lovely little family business with car and lodging, found a car (an SUV, clean and perfect running condition), and ended up booking my first 2 nights at a Mailan Hale Inn. It was perfect, Jin and her family were friendly and helpful, the apartment was walking distance to downtown shopping, quiet, clean and friendly, I will stay here again. Simple, clean accommodations. Recommended"

"Thank u! We rented a car from this nice family a few weeks ago and with the car rental shortage and the crazy prices because of that, I suppose… We thought we would go with these guys and trust that we would legitimately get our deposit back and we did. No problems! No problem with any aspect of the whole process! We actually were kind of needy clients and son went above and beyond helping us get the car and they pretty much medical emergency unfortunately… Everything worked out and it was great because we had a car the whole time! Car Looked similar to the ones in the main photos different but similar as in very clean, no problems just vacuum out the sand and return it with a full tank of gas, no problems, Mahalo ✌️ (We also liked that our money went to a local~not enterprise or budget car rental)"

"This is a family-owned place that's run by a couple that runs 2 properties under the same listing name. They work hard and are super nice, responsive and try to be helpful. The stay was more like a 2.5 star, but they are good people. This place is ridiculously expensive for what you get, or maybe they change their pricing based on the season. They basically charge more than the vacation rentals down by Alii for hostel-like experience. They also charge a pricey cleaning fee when they don't have professional cleaning staff. I booked here because there was no availability elsewhere but price : quality ratio is not good. Very bare bones in terms of general necessities that usually come in an Airbnb experience -- you will need to buy most things. Things smell musty and dated -- particularly the kitchen cabinets. The place is pretty dated, and you will need to jerry-rig some stuff to make it useable. The owners will try to help the best they can though. Shower pressure is great. Internet is good when it is up, but it cuts out often, so somewhat unreliable if you need a stable connection consistently. Location is great and central in Kona, a quick walk down a big hill to the beach and toward Alii Drive where all the restaurants, bars and touristy stuff is. They also include parking in the stay."

"Our host was so very welcoming and accommodating. We stayed in one of the rooms upstairs. The place was clean. Up to date, had fridge, microwave, and nice shower/private bathroom. Love love loved staying here! Beautiful deck on the upper level with picnic table for morning coffee and stargazing at night"
