"I love this place. The service was classic yet very friendly. Great variety of whiskeys, full bar. The menu had great variety. I've eaten here four times. Huge portions almost like family style. King crab was split long ways made it so much easier to enjoy. My cousin ordered the spaghetti and it was cooked perfectly. The meatballs were very delicious. Don't miss out on the cigar dessert chocolate mousse and ganache tasty."

"I originally gave a one-star review because of their previous policy of not allowing outside wine for a corkage fee, and also because of the difficulty in getting a hold of the restaurant in the early days of their opening. After J Paul's changed their policy (thank you!), we brought two of our friends, one of them celebrating a birthday in for supper last night. Jason was our server, Zachary was the assistant/busser, and Scott was the manager. We also met Lisa, one of the resort directors dining at a table next to us. All of them were friendly and very welcoming, repeating on more than one occasion how appreciative they were to have us in as Reno locals. The dining room was beautifully done, high-end, dark paneled swanky steakhouse vibes with some very cool pieces of art... My husband and I were looking forward to the J resort renovation project and the new amenities it would offer us as locals. Last night did not disappoint. We started with two rounds of drinks in the bar and they were each well balanced and expertly prepared. We moved into the dining room and started with two rounds of the house specialty meatballs. They were exactly what I would look for in a high-end Italian meatball, they were as good as or better the outstanding meatballs Morton's steakhouse is famous for. So yummy. Our group of four ordered two strip steaks and two filet mignon along with baked potato, lobster, mac and cheese, and creamed spinach. The two strip steaks were the best we've had in Reno. it was the same story with the filet mignon. One of filets was overcooked, but the kitchen quickly made it right and all was well. The restaurant comped the steak that didn't come out right as well as dessert since it was our friend's birthday. We all agreed we would definitely come back. This was one of the better steakhouse meals we've had. I would also like to add to the restaurant that between the drinks, the meal in the restaurant and the drinks in the afterglow lounge your new corkage policy has paid off and will continue to pay off as we will be back with more friends and continue to spread the word. "We had dinner July 21st 2023 and it was fabulous. David was our server. David did such an amazing job at the food and drink pairing. The smoked old fashioned drink was incredible and my wine pairings were spot on. The beet salad and crab cakes were so good. I had the trio of steaks with a bernase sauce and my husband had the ribeye with a demi Glace and they were both incredible. Dessert was the chocolate cigar which was good and super fun and my husband loved the cheesecake. A big thank you to David for his knowledge and great attitude."

"Visited 7/15/23 and had an amazing experience. They were short staffed due to employees not coming to work so they did make us wait until our reservation time when we asked if we could get in earlier. Not a huge deal, we just hung out in the casino until our reservation time. Once seated at a table we noticed a booth free up and requested to move which was obliged without issue. We had the pleasure of the GM Scott as our server due to short staffing and he was ON IT! Everything from seating, to service to signing the check was outstanding. I started with an espresso martini (my first ever) and I am HOOKED! My husband ordered the wet aged ribeye, asparagus and mashed potatoes. I had the Bucatini. Hubby's food was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, which you can actually watch happen because there is a viewing window. I was on the fence about ordering the Chicken Milanese or the Bucatini and the GM suggested the Bucatini. The Bucatini was nothing short of perfection. We haven't stopped talking about it yet. I should also mention that food was on the table in what felt like 10 minutes from when we ordered. We were shocked at how fast it came out. For dessert (which we definitely did not need as we were already STUFFED) we ordered the cigar which was a little too sweet and rich for our liking but a cute novelty none the less. Overall we couldn't have been happier with this place. The whole experience was impeccable and we will definitely be back! Thank you Scott for everything!"
