Frontier Pack Train

"I booked a half-day ride with the Frontier Pack Train, and I had a great experience. I arrived solo for the ride, and there was another group of 4 that came along on the ride. The pack station sent 2 guide with us on our ride, and both of them were fantastic. Once we reached the ridge at the halfway point of our ride, one of the guides was able to show us a small mountain spring and an aspen grove. I really enjoyed my ride with the pack station, and it was a great first-time experience. The process was smooth, and all of the staff members I interacted with were great!"

"My friend and I just came back from the Black Lake Mule Drive and what an incredible experience! The crew is helpful, cooks delicious meals 3x a day, and sets up all of our tents and riding equipment for each day. This was a 4 day drive - I highly recommend you at least have some experience with horseback riding. Make sure to bring support for your knees if you have any! The landscape was phenomenal each day, and it was beautiful to see parts of California I had yet to explore. They also provide showers / portable bathrooms each evening. Looking forward to next years trip already!! Kent, Justin, Tyler, Monique & the whole team were good hearted people and a fun group to be with. Could not have asked for a more unique and challenging experience. Highly recommend."

"The reason for 5 stars - the staff were super friendly and accommodative. They made our day to make an exception by letting our toddler have pictures with a horse. Only kids 5 and above are allowed to ride horses or mules. The horse riding was a decent experience with views in the background. They have lot of horses and they all look healthy and strong. There is a waterfall in the background but you can expect a lot of water only during fall or spring. I will recommend this place for horse riding experience."

"Shared a multiple day trip with FPT - what a great time! Well organized and flexible for our group of novice to well-seasoned riders. Wranglers and cook were great - very personable, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient! The horses and mules were well-cared for, in shape, seasoned and receptive of our varying abilities. Kent and Justin run a great operation; Madison, Anikka, Emily and Jessica were all great and super helpful. Would travel with the FPT crew again!"
