"Time management here is absolutely abysmal. Dropped off at 10:30 for a tire change and they finished around 7 hours later. Because it’s on base, I don’t believe they have enough employees, but they still schedule the same amount of cars as if they did have enough employees. Staff is extremely friendly, however this Firestone could use a new business model, more employees, and a truly reasonable accurate time schedule. Keep in mind that this Firestone is “on base” and they likely don’t follow the same “Firestone” policy. I can receive the same discount at a more commercial location. If it’s a weekend and you’re waiting, please note that they do not have a public bathroom. The nearest one is the Exchange about a 5 minute walk."

"Rob (the very nice gentleman that helped us get checked into the appointment) was very kind, courteous, and honest about the work being done. After observing him with other customers before me, I felt that he has the great qualities that everyone wants in their car care advisor. He was direct and honest in a way that made you fell assured that your car was being left in good hands. Even though he was busy with the morning rush, he took his time with each of us in a way that didn't make us feel overly impatient due to the wait. I was very satisfied with the work that was done, as well as the open communication regarding the additional work needed after initial diagnostics. I would return for future car care as well. My only gripe is that after seven hours I called to ask about my car and it was then that they claim the work was done. Drop off at 9:00, received diagnostics call at 11:00, then I called them and picked up about 18:00."

"Absolutely would NOT recommend. I went here to get my safety inspection redone after they failed me for not having a Hawaii registration. I should have gone somewhere else from the beginning and listened to all of the reviews after the hassle they gave me the first time around. I got there and they tried to provide me with my failed safety inspection even though I brought in our Hawaii registration and was told it passed, so the guy at the desk went back to ask the technician and said he lost our passed inspection. The guy at the desk was friendly and told us that he was going to get it reprinted for us and he said the technician told him it would take 5 minutes but it took 30 minutes. After we got it back, we went out looking for our car, but they didn’t pull our car out to the front, which I thought was weird because they had in the past. We went out to our car, and it wouldn’t unlock. When we tried to open it, our after market car alarm started going off like crazy. Our car keys have ALWAYS worked before but suddenly stopped working after they did our safety inspection and alignment?? They called me 20 minutes after they told me to leave the car so they could check it out and they told me just don’t touch my battery, my alarm and don’t use the after market keys. Save yourself the hassle and skip this Firestone. It’s not a wonder why they have two stars."

"First experience: told us our inoperative car window totaled the car, would cost more than the car was worth, and it would total the car. We took it to Clyde’s in Kailua and they fixed it easily! Second experience: they identified an issue incorrectly, returned the car to us with an incorrect fix. Cost too high for what would have been the correct fix. Recommend avoiding this Firestone, good customer service but it seems like they lack either the experience or knowledge to correctly help with major car issues."

"Let me first say that my review is not to reflect poorly on any of the employees. They were nice and polite. My review is focused mainly on the lack of a waiting area. They have a TV, but no permanent seating. Granted the first time I was there they had ONE folding metal chair outside. And last time I was there they had a rolling office chair. But the same service that took 2 1/2 hours here only takes 15 to 25 minutes at a mechanic off base. I went here for my safety inspection. Almost 3 hours the first time and an hour and a half for the re inspection. Going to a mechanic off post takes significantly less time."
