La Spezia

"They claim best Italian food in Hawai’i. I’d go as far as to say, it’s fair to put La Spezia up against any authentic restaurant in Italy and call it one of the best. The food was spectacular. From the complimentary homemade focaccia, the flatbread appetizer (which had a perfect blend of prosciutto, cheese, and mushrooms on top of their focaccia). My little one devoured the gnocchi, and I managed to get a few bites as well. The entrees are perfectly portioned. Finally, I’m so glad we tried the panna cotta. If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically Italian styled flan…but better. Absolutely worth a cheat day. The only negative if you could call it a negative, is if you don’t have reservations, and you’d prefer to eat wherever you’re staying, good luck trying to get through on the phone line, and there’s no option to order online. My wife and I enjoyed the food so much we tried to order to go, but simply couldn’t get through on the phone line, and I’d venture to say it’s because the host (a tall male) basically ignores the phone ringing no matter what. I personally witnessed this the night before when we were at the restaurant. Other than that, you’re in for a treat if you decide to eat at La Spezia."

"Our family like it so much we went twice during our vacation. The first waiter was amazing and the second was a grumpy old man. Not great experience. But the food was amazing both times. Pasta, salads, veal were all great. Good wine selection."

"Eric and the La Spezia fam knocked it out of the park. Get there early if you don’t have a reservation as this place fills up fast and rightfully so. The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella and fresh fish were exceptional. Don’t miss this stop on your visit to Kauai."

"Absolutely delicious! This is the real deal. The homemade gnocchi melts in your mouth. We also tried the spaghetti and fettuccine. Hands down some of the best I've ever had. Our service was great, too. I wish I would have thought to take a picture when our food was served. I was just too excited when I saw it and jumped in. The photo is about half through."

"Absolutely wonderful food at La Spezia. You gotta go there for the Sunday Brunch, they've got the best ever Eggs Benedict. I personally got the Benny Italiano and it was amazing! Eggs cooked perfectly, excellent sauce taste, crispy English muffins, and great presentation. My wife got the eggs pepper and sausage meal, and enjoyed it a lot as well. Would 100% recommend this place, the prices are great as well. Will go again if we get the chance."
