"They care about the patient they listen to the patients concerns and they treat you like they want you to keep coming back. Anyone that has dealt with long term pain has felt those accusations that emergency room doctors make you feel. They don't treat you like someone seeking narcotics they treat the mind body and soul. I've been going here 10+ years. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. Updating my review I had my last appointment today 11/8/2023. I am moving across country and I am so nervous that I will not find a place equal to the care I received at NPSS over the last 12+ years. Dr. Anwar Mack is the most compassionate doctor I have ever been too. He listened to my worries and my pain. He did everything he could to aid my pain management. He helped me thru some extremely rough years. The staff is wonderful and I have never had sub standard care there. They now have it that if your calling from a cell phone you can get faster answers from a text which has helped greatly. I recommend them to anyone that needs a doctor to listen and act. I never left the office feeling like I was brushed off or non of my concerns were addressed. I would give them a 6+ star but they don't go any higher."

"Did a consult with Dr Pittman. Found him to be cold, uncaring, unempathtic, and condescending. The nurses and staff were great, but Dr Pittman I will not follow up with. I was fine with his plan but don't talk down to patients and dismiss concerns. Also when a patient says they had a severe allergic reaction to a medication, rolling yours eyes at them is ignorant. I'm going to trust the diagnostic team from Uc davis that saved my life over someone whom I just met and acts like I'm an idiot instead of looking at my records to confirm what I'm saying. Also I paid 350 cash as my pain is related to an old work place injury really just wanted a 2nd outside opinion and acted like I was wasting his time, then tell your staff not to schedule these with you but don't treat the patient isn't worthy of your time that I literally just paid for."

"I've been a patient Dr. Steve Berman's for close to 20 years. He is a great physician! And he does not beat around the bush! If you ask him a question, he is bluntly direct & honest. So if you want someone who will stroke your emotions, & then not truly help you then too bad. BUT, If you want an honest & effective pain management physician, who will work & fight for you to get your pain into a level of a manageable place/number ( on a scale of 1-10), so you can have some level of a real life! And that is worth everything!"

"I have been seeing Dr. Mack as a patient for a number of years and am totally pleased with the lower back relief I receive without narcotics. It's a collaborative effort so I ge to choose what option I feel the most comfortable within we go from there. So far I get 95% total relief for about 10 months then we do another series of shots and I'm good to go again. I like Dr. Mack as a clinician as he listens to what I have to say and is point on when it comes to trigger points. Recommend Dr. Mack to everyone."
