Saint Mary's Emergency Department

"I brought my friend into the ER for an allergic reaction to penicillin. She had to fill out extensive paperwork while struggling to stay conscious. She was having trouble breathing and we waited 2 hours for an initial consultation. When she was seen, she was made to stand on a scale immediately when she was about to faint and be seen in the hallway. They ran out of beds on a non-holiday weekday. Megan, the nurse who saw her did not take her full health history before giving her medications and did not answer her questions about her treatment plan and said the details would be on her discharge paperwork. She gave my friend attitude in a time of need. Do not come here, there are other hospitals with much higher ratings around."

"No wonder people talk about this hospital being torn down. It's a disgrace. I came into the ER in a distressed state and they had the audacity to ask for my social security number. They took my weight and then made me sit out in the lobby 2 hours later I got seen in the hallway because they ran out of beds on a regular Wednesday night. Nurse Megan had me take meds without hearing my full story. When I asked about the new meds they were prescribing she said to just check the discharge paperwork and that the pharmacy would know. Please for the love of God go anywhere else but this hospital."

"I took a family member to St Mary’s ER and physician Jennifer Peters was the physician that saw her. When I say, saw her, I mean, literally barely saw her. She had a rash and a blister on her arm, very sore throat And has had the temperature of for three days. She acted as though we were annoying her and was cold and rude the entire “30 seconds “ she saw the patient. “Dr. Jen” clearly wasted her money on med school and should not be a physician. I am a cancer survivor and had several of my surgeries, tests and treatments at St. Mary’s. I truly thought it was a patient friendly place then. I have never been treated so rudely and as we didn’t matter in my life. We are now at renown, urgent care, or we should’ve just come to begin with hoping for a better result. I have never met the poor doctor in my entire life and I’m 70 years old and had a lot I’m going through stage three cancer treatment for nearly 3 years. had I had it even one doctor like that I’m sure I would’ve died!"

"Wow, absolutely one of the worst ER’s in Reno they take their sweet time and goof off especially the night shift. I got into the ER at about 1:30am 1:45am for pain in my stomach/groin area it is now 6:21 and haven’t been helped or seen since about 4:00am or earlier, it’s When they should be working and caring for their patients when it truly matters most.They could care less about how you feel or what your needs are some of the nurses there shouldn’t even be working and should be fired immediately, because their attitude isn’t care or work friendly. They simply do what they want and if you don’t comply it’s an issue and they do with you as they please by making you wait or not caring for the amount of pain your in or tending to the patients needs. They didn’t care for me at all and acted like I was the problem or lying about my pain I felt disrespected and neglected whoever is head of HR OR MANAGES SAINT MARY CHECK YOUR NURSES BECAUSE THEYRE NOT FIT FOR THE MEDICAL FIELD!"

"Didn't want my mom sent here. Horrible. They always do a quick check and send very ill patients home. Beware. They also had the nerve to tell me that we're out of towners and they don't do it like other states do so what they do is they send people home right away if they know you're from out of town.
