VA Texarkana Outpatient Clinic

"Beautiful building and nice new facility. Comfort chairs in waiting room to help with long waiting times. Some staff members seems to have attitudes with veterans (not all, Morgan, Michelle, and “labs” guy super friendly/ kind). Too much red tape to get health care. Always saying we are “sorry for the frustrations” and pass the blame on someone else (or give 5 different phone numbers to call with extensions with no call backs after leaving voicemails. Veterans know this routine all too well. Having to wait months for appointments. Doctors are difficult to understand when trying to communicate. Same old story with “VA healthcare” just negative experiences versus private independent doctors. Hopefully things can be done to help veterans with healthcare."

"My Husband can never get anyone to return His Calls for the last 3 months. Appointments are set months ahead never gets His test results. Has a lot of pain. Filed for primary Doctor never got any results, the office probably never sent it for Him. I am so disappointed with the VA in Texarkana. Hope new office will be better."

"The VA in Texarkana is excellent. I have Mr Stanley as my primary physician and have had for years. Both he and his staff. Nurses Ashley and John are the best. They are busy because they are known for their loving care for vets as well as their knowledge. They are never to busy to take the time each vet feels they need to take care of all their needs. The front office people are very busy, but handle the heavy workload with a smile and genuine concern. As my daughter says, i couldnt get better care if i was a millionaire and had all medical at my beckon call."

"My husband uses this clinic and the only person who cares is Mrs Dottie. Every 3 months he has to get refills added to his medication and they wait weeks to add it. He will go without medication for weeks because they get sent late and they never add the refills unless he calls countless times. They are the absolute worst and don’t care about our veterans who risked everything to protect our people. He suffers without medication for weeks at a time and can barely leave bed some days because of pain. They also take 6 months to get him in for testings. He’s been suffering because his pain has moved and within 2 years he’s not been looked at again."

"Called 15 times with no answer. Finally contacted patient advocate in Shreaveport to order labs. When we got there, they couldn't find the lab orders, wouldn't fill rx's we brought from the er, and we're just plain disinterested."
