"I got a terrible haircut from a lady I had never been to. I essentially had a mullet. It was too short to do anything with, I couldn’t style it cute or even put it up. I would over wash and over dye and over style to do anything to feel pretty. I spent most days crying in the mirror and a few times called off work due to insecurity. My hair hasn’t grown in 10 months. Due to my damaging it everyday even further. I didn’t know anything about hair extensions but I started watching a ton of YouTube videos and doing research and I came across Kayla. She was a local IBE technician with amazing pictures of her work and it all seemed too good to be true. From the very beginning, she made me feel so hopeful. She answered me right away, didn’t make me feel like a psycho for sending her messages on every platform I could find her on, and told me to come in for a consult. I was in tears sitting in her chair waiting for her to tell me she was sorry but there was just nothing she could do. Instead, she smiled at me. She calmed me down and never rushed me through my questions and took every worry I had and set them away from me. She started talking about doing a custom color and holding different pieces of hair up to my head and moved in such a way that made me feel there was a chance for me. My 5 year old daughter watches me pick myself apart in the mirror. There’s a lot of shame in that. Kayla never made me feel like my hair situation would be too much for her. She was calm and kind and so incredibly patient. It’s extremely terrifying to go to another stylist after such a bad experience, especially paying so much money. Kayla has fair prices especially for what she offers and her skill level. She’s not doing this to pad her pockets. She’s a mom too. She’s a woman who has dealt with her own insecurities. She is doing this, and you can feel it, out of genuine care for other women. From a real place of passion for pulling women out of that hole of depression and insecurity. I talked so much during my appointment. I know she’s heard all the same questions and concerns. But she made me feel like it was her first time hearing everything. She answers eagerly and passionately. She will tell you which things are facts and which things are her educated opinion. She will answer your questions in and out of her chair. I never felt like she left me hanging or to deal with such a big change by myself. If I could take her home with me and have her wash and style my hair everytime I would! But the instructions are clear, she sent me videos to watch to do things on my own, and she’s always there when I have another question. I feel so fortunate to have met her. I tried leaving the salon before she was even done!! It looked so good I genuinely thought she was finished. She hadn’t even cut or styled it for me yet. It’s been a week since my appointment. My hair feels wonderful. My style has lasted all week, I haven’t had to add any heat to it at all. Our game plan is to let my hair rest. I am all over blonde and she didn’t put one single chemical in my hair. She matched it beautifully. Less heat, less washing, less styling. I’m so excited to see my hair growth progress at my appointment in 8 weeks. I’m also excited to be in Kayla’s company again. If you’re scared to try extensions, and insecure with your current hair ….
