There is usually an unreasonable parent behind all the drama, when you get right down to it. No matter how much money or control is given, it is never, ever enough. Smearing the other parent and running to the cops just to be malicious is a terrible thing for these narcissists to put their child through. I used to be terrified of my ex, but Dr Lavit's report from almost a decade ago is what has and will hold up in court. There is no Custody Psychologist that I know of with a perfect 5 stars. Usually, the disgruntled parent will take the time to write a bad review, because revenge is typically how these people operate. But if you are a reasonable parent who just wants to be part of your kiddo's life, without a hidden agenda, I believe Dr. Lavit is the best choice for the job. Custody cases can last up to 18 years. "Many years ago Dr. Lavit was appointed by the court to deal with parenting issues between me and my ex-wife. To make a long story short I had brought up some issues about the way the kid’s step-father treated my daughter. I thought the step-dad’s actions were inappropriate and raised huge red flags for me as a father. Anyway during the time we were with Dr. Lavit he kept taking away my times with my kids away because my ex and I couldn’t co-parent. I was still bringing up issues I was worried about with Dr. Lavit, concerning the step-dad. Well years later my worst fears were confirmed by my daughter. She has disclosed to me of abuse that she suffered from her step-dad. Just like I was warning Dr. Lavit about. When I asked Dr. Lavit about my concerns it fell on deaf ears. It seemed he was more concerned about getting payments then really helping my kids or resolving issues. I’m sure Dr. Lavit has done well for other families, but because of his incompetence my child was abused and left in the abusive environment unchecked. For someone that is a specialist he sure wasn’t wise. If you get court appointed for Dr. Lavitt be very concerned at his motives."
