"Ok I got misinformed about policy and after 18 months of paying, there sending me a check for $9.00 so much for agent telling me it's like a savings account, over the phone they tell me "we don't refund premiums" well that's not what the agent told me. So misinformation is all I have to say about this company and it's staff. Do not purchase a policy from this company. Period."

"My husband passed away Feb22 2021. I made my first call to Oxford later that week to have them mail my paperwork to file the insurance claim. Waited three week before it arrived. Just before that arrived I made a second call and they did e-mail me copies with instructions. Followed instructions as written. It said that policies under 50000 did not need photo ID so I did not send them. Much later I am told that yes, I do need them and so I faxed them the same day. I is now May 11 and I am still waiting for my claim. I can not and will not recommend Oxford Life to anyone. They really do not care."

"Never let your parents or senior adults sign up with this company by themselves. They send agent out who are in control of the policy holder. My family member has been with them for two years and paid them with automatic payments for those two years. He didn't even has a copy of his policy. All he had was a folder with the company logo and a form stating the date and amount of the payments due. Come to find out the Agent that work for the company has the policy. They will not send the actual policy holder a copy of they own life​ insurance policy. It takes up to 20 mins just to speak with someone. Get them on the phone and no one knows anything. We have been going back and forth with this company spending​ paperwork just to get a copy of the policy. As of today his still don't have the policy."

"I've been dealing with Oxford / Assurance for almost 10 years. I have never had a complaint from any of my deceased clients beneficiaries, as a matter of fact any that mentioned Oxford always spoke highly of them regarding the prompt payment of the death benefits."

"I have repeatedly sent letters trying to cancel my policy and explain why I can no longer afford Oxford Life Insurance Company's high premiums. Due to circumstances beyond my control, my mother abandoned me in nursing homes because I could no longer walk because of an accident involving both of my knees. I was living with my father and mother, had a job, and had to pay only a small amount toward the electric cost. My father passed away six years ago, so it was just my mother and myself. In 2013 I fell and dislocated my right kneecap, my left knee was already replaced, but the surgery was failed. I was admitted to a physical rehabilitation hospital, but needed long tern physical therapy. My family admitted me to four different nursing homes for the therapy. Nothing worked, my knee was inoperable. I was in a nursing home for months when I found out that I would never walk again. As soon as my mother knew I would be in a wheelchair the remainder of my life, she abandoned me to live in the nursing home forever. I was always prompt when paying my premiums to Oxford Life, but once my health insurance ran out after the first few months of living in the fourth nursing, I was no longer able to make my policy premium payments, because the nursing home took all of my income except for $30.00 each month.. I was in the nursing homes for a total of 14 months. By then my only income was the Social Security Disability, which is very little. After the first two months of not being able to pay the premiums, the policy should have lapsed and eventually canceled, AS ALL OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES DO. After the 14 months and physical therapy was no longer affective, I had to be discharged from the nursing home, as I no longer qualified as a nursing home patient. Because my mother deserted me, I had nowhere to go. The people at the nursing home found a handicap apartment for me and they helped me to move in. Now I'm in my apartment, alone, with only a small disability income and having to pay rent, utilities, buy groceries, etc. Oxford Life has started sending me bills for what they call is a "loan" against my life insurance policy for all the months since I was no longer able to pay the high premiums. I was also not able to pay any of my other bills while in the nursing home, i.e., car insurance, which lapsed and I had to get someone to turn in my license plate and that policy was canceled due to non-payment, etc. Not only can I not pay back the "loan", which is thousands, there is no way I can afford the policy high premiums. I continue writing telling Oxford Life Insurance Company this, I also tell them to CANCEL MY POLICY, but to no avail. I just keep getting the bills. And I can not find anyone to help me with this problem...the bills just keep coming and the "loan" keeps getting larger. Oxford Life Insurance Company does not care about their policy holders and will not work things out. I can't believe they won't even cancel my policy to stop all of this. I really would never want my beneficiary to have to deal with this company, they would probably never receive the insurance money due to them. I will never recommend Oxford Life Insurance Company to anyone. If you are reading this and considering Oxford Life, beware!"
