Residence at Tolleson

"Here's a list from what I seen from my 4 months of staying here. Pros: - Cheap Rent - Free Wifi (Con: It's public) - Utilities Included Cons: - Tiny Kitchen - Tiny Living Space - No Mailboxes - Damaged/Faulty Laundromat - Damaged/Bumpy Parking Lots - Damaged/Dirty Apartment upon move-in MAJOR Cons: - Roach Infested - Damaged Building (Interior & Outer), holes, damaged signs, etc. - Filthy Complex (Garbage, Dog Poop/Urine, STRONG odor, filthy pools) - Very Unsafe - Dishonest Office Team - No Security Summary: Upon moving in, I wasn't given the apartment I signed up for, and most of the cabinets had water damage. And from checking here and there, it just seems like their office will allow anyone in, and mostly don't seem to bother with keeping the place up in shape and cleanliness. By that I mean, there's holes all over the outer building, not to mention some of the folks here, especially with their dogs, NEVER clean up after themselves, nor does the office do anything about it. There's practically dog poop and other junk scattered all over, it gotten so bad to the point where there's a strong odor going about, as well as some poor people having to put up signs on their doors to let people know not to have their pets poop/urinate on their doors. There's also been a roach problem, you could spring clean your unit multiple times over, plug up your drains, but they'll still find a way in, and the lack of cleanliness around the complex and some neighbors only attract more. Finally, it's been becoming a norm to hear gunshots nearby, police cars patrol about. Big police or drug busts happening about in the parking lot, so on. There's been a few times where I came across potential crooks peeping through all the windows to see if anyone's home, even going as far to trying to break in. There was two incidents where I had to scare off someone who tried to break in my studio dead at night while I was asleep. Overall, this place is just sketchy and gross all over, but considering the cheaper rent, it almost makes sense. Thankfully, the office is sort of beginning to make changes, they recently rolled out regulations towards leaving garbage and other junk out on the patios. As well as mentioning future plans to install mailboxes. I will say for my very first place of my own, I did appreciate them accepting my application right away, and the small space besides the kitchen. But as of now, unless you have no choice, I recommend you don't move here. If anything, it could hopefully improve, these apartments used to be suites."

"I am extremely happy with the prompt responses from Residence at Tolleson. Leasing agent Sylvierose is wonderful and very good at her job. I moved in on November 30th. I submitted my service request, and the repairs were taken care of immediately. Also, the service guys were very kind and did their very best to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. Thank you Sylvierose for confirming that I made the right choice moving here."

"The maintenance man, Louis He goes way above, and beyond! He cares about his job, and he cares about the property. he’s in tune, what’s the surroundings. I would definitely give. Louis five stars. The property is lucky to have him!!"

"If I could write a review without having to rate with a star I would. This place 0 stars, roach infested, criminals infested I know az overall has crime but this complex in general takes the lead. No cameras to show proof of incidents. They rent to anyone!! Take your money!!! Lie about when you rent to get more section 8 money. This I know because they tried putting an earlier date for my mother in law to collect. Unfortunately to them she was not on section 8. She was assaulted 3 weeks in could’ve been killed and yet to hear from management! I understand being able to afford a place to live don’t risk your life here."
