"Dr. Tobin presented as kind and professional, did a brief, but thorough and perfectly acceptable annual skin exam. They had me wait in my underwear without a robe offered and it was cold. I am young and healthy, so it did not bother me, but I did notice it felt a bit odd not to be offered a garment for warmth or privacy. Prior to the 1st visit, I had previously called the office for a price quote for my exam and they told me they would not be able to provide that before meeting the doctor. As a provider myself, I understood, and immediately upon meeting him explained that he does not accept my insurance and I'd be paying out-of-pocket immediately after the conclusion of the visit. I appreciated the fair price for the 8 min visit and paid the fee they asked for at the termination of the visit on 11/10/2023. I received 1st bill in the mail stating I owed the same amount I had already paid so I returned in person 11/21/2023 and was told by Gloria at the front desk who spoke with another lady in the back that "bill has not been allocated, you already paid, disregard the bill." I received 2nd bill and returned on 12/27/2023 4:50pm and Gloria spoke to the lady in the back again and told me that "you're all set, you already paid." I decided now having returned twice in-person to cancel my annual followup that I had scheduled for 11/14/2024. 01/27/2024 received 3rd bill stating I still owe the same fee. I feel like my time is not valued and there are serious communication problems between the billing team and medical staff. Or, they are dishonest and try to hound you to pay money, wasting your time until you simply cave-in and pay the money. I would have been happy to pay any reasonable amount at the time of service, but I don't like surprise bills. What is quite annoying is I tried to avoid this problem from the outset. I really did, I tried to minimize wasting my time and the office and doctor's time. It's a shame. I do not run my practice this way. I do my best to give people an expectation of the price before they meet me, I tell people to their face what the price is, they pay, and that is the end of it. *** I just paid the bill online because I am tired of worrying they are going to report me to creditors and the time suck is draining me. Hopefully they stop sending me invoices now. 01/27/2024"
