"I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to be treated at the City Of Hope and I do not understand why they have a 3 rating. Since I have been referred their, upon my request, I have been afforded every Medical tool to determine what and where my 2 different cancers are. Even though my case is unusual my team is doing everything within their power to find the right treatment and because they care I am GRATEFUL. At every appointment I am treated with kindness, empathy, sympathy and am exposed to professionals that take the time to actually LISTEN. That is rare in the medical field today. Their portal is FABULOUS and they give you access to every medical record and every conversation you have with a team member that you can print for your records. They respond in a very timely manner and their scheduling department is amazingly fast. If you communicate well they will make every effort to accommodate and take care of you. They have a pharmacy on site and almost every resource you will need on site. When you have Cancer Hitch hiking in your body, you and your Positive attitude must work with your Cancer Team to Kick Cancer Out and City of Hope Staff works hard to be on your team. Whether I win or not I am confident with this Hospital and my Team!"

"I've always had a great experience at City of Hope (knock wood). Everyone is friendly and prepared to console you, pray with you, and listen to your concerns. I only wished they could keep the same doctors for a longer stay. With a shortage of doctors, there is consistent churn in the market."

"I had my first visit back in June. Turns out they billed for a fake visit that never occurred. I have been contacting billing and they keep saying it will be reversed but they have not done it. To my surprise they sent to collection to a visit that NEVER happened. I have been giving the run around and nothing gets done. Beyond frustrating to say the least. This needs to get fixed ASAP!"

"I was referred here for surgery and from the first phone call, everyone fell all over themselves to make sure I knew exactly what was happening at every step. I was previously scheduled for surgery at another hospital and that fell through literally at the last minute (almost on the way to surgery) due to my completely incompetent doctor, so when I was referred away, it was a bit of a relief. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. My new surgeon, Dr Scribner, was gushed over by everyone who I spoke with prior to meeting him. I thought it was overkill, but wow, he really IS that good. I arrived for my major surgery at 0830, was in the O.R. by 10, back out at 12:30, and home by 3:30, including a stop at Walgreens. If I didn't have holes from the laparoscopic tools, I'd have sworn they just knocked me out and woke me up. The hardest thing about my recovery was sitting still because I felt like I could do anything. I would highly recommend CoH and especially Dr Scribner and his team."

"Dr. Park should be fired for her lack of competence. At least she was able to admit that she was “out of her depth” after I called her out on it. Even after speaking with Jane Truemner, a Department Director at City of Hope, about her poor conduct on my initial visit, the behavior was repeated and then some. She had never been spoken to by Jane nor any other head of staff (including the director of her own department who I know was told about the issues I experienced) about my concerns by the time of my follow up visit 3 weeks later. I’m concerned about the well being of oncology patients who are currently trusting these medical amateurs to take them and their conditions seriously… poor communication from the top all the way down at City of Hope."
