"If it would let me not even give it one star I would. It was my first time coming to this location and seeing BERNADETTE QUIHUIS, DO. I've been a patient at el rio ever since I was a child but I want to start off by saying this is the WORST LOCATION i've ever been to and the worst experience. First of all my question is how is this women even in the medical field?! It seemed to me like this lady DID NOT even know what she was doing. Not only did she look so unprofessional but her way of doing things were so different from other providers i've seen. She did not even give me answers and as soon as she was done she stepped out without even saying anything and never came back to give me information or answers, seems to me like i'm not the only one who has dealt with this lady. How is she even still working here? I am so upset and disappointed because not only did she waste my time but I came in for something very serious. Something needs to be done ASAP because nobody deserves this type of service and especially if it is medical related."

"Had to wait almost two months for appointments for my children. Did multiple appointment confirmations via their automated phone calls, and text messages. Also received several email confirmations. Less than twenty-four hours before the appointments, I received a voicemail from someone there with different appointment times for my children. Calling back their number took me to a call center, where they only saw the new times, and not the original appointments. The appointment times were changed without even discussing it with me, and the person on the phone could not even see a record of it being changed. I could have been late for my first appointment there, it wouldn't be my fault, but I would have definitely been penalized for it! So far not a good experience. I arrived fifteen minutes early for the appointments, but the doctor didn't actually see us until forty minutes past our appointment time. Dr. Patricia Strempel is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. She was dismissive of legitimate concerns about my son's speech development, but was pushing for appointments for a nutritionist for my five year old son. I was concerned that he may have autism, I was dismissed and rudely informed that my five year old son is learning disabled. I want to mention here that this "doctor" was masked, and I had difficulty understanding her, let alone my son. She knew him all of five minutes. How can a young child follow directions when no one can understand your muffled voice, or see your face for directions on opening your mouth, sticking your tongue out, etc? She was also getting visibly frustrated with him! Beyond awful human being. This is someone who has never dealt with weight issues, clearly, and is fat-phobic. My husband is six feet, 3 inches tall. She had no interest in any of that. I am still deeply disturbed by this appointment. I brought up his speech development first, and she was more interested in his "obesity". Even though he is above average for height as well. Then she made extremely unprofessional comments that he can't follow simple directions and he is learning disabled. What a rude and apathetic woman. Why is this pediatrician even around children? She clearly has no skills to deal with them, or their parents. She smiles (I think) behind her mask at you while saying cruel words to your face with no regard for the language she uses. Ugh. Avoid this doctor and go anywhere else. I think a wild coyote would have been a friendlier and kinder face. Edit: My son tested above his grade level. Thanks for labeling him during the 5 minutes you bothered to be in the examination room as learning disabled. Great job, Dr. Strempel! LOL"

"Dr.BERNADETTE QUIHUIS was not only RUDE to my mother during her appointment yesterday but also didn’t have the human decency to face my mom while she talked or look at my mother when she would point to the places she was feeling pain. On top of that she cut my mother off MID SENTENCE and told her “I don’t have any more time for you” after only seeing her for a couple minutes. As if that wasn’t enough she LIED on my moms MyChart saying she “got angry and walked out of the room because there was no test result” even though my mom never asked about a test result non the less get angry and walk out. My mom remained respectful and clam during the whole visit. It was BERNADETTE who walked out. I read several comments complaining about this lady. She does NOT deserve the title of Dr. if this is how she treats her CLIENTS who come to her for MEDICAL HELP. I HOPE YOU READ THIS AND DO BETTER!"

"Went in for an emergency tooth extraction and it was the worst experience the dr was so rough and hard. I told her I was feeling more than pressure and she was like “no no it’s just pressure” umm no it was pain. She was too busy talking to 3 other people around her about concerts and plans then she was about being gentle and considerate for the fact I was already in pain. I left in more pain than when I went in. I couldn’t believe how swollen my face was and how purple my mouth looked. And the pain never stop it turned in to dry socket and there was parts of tooth fragments left. I had to go to a different dentist just to get the relief I needed. I have had other teeth extracted and this was by far the worst. I don’t recommend at all especially if you don’t have insurance or on State insurance they look and treat u differently. And their care is poor and unprofessional"

"My daughter was supposed to have wisdom teeth removed with anesthesia scheduled on a Tuesday with the anesthesiologist to be there. Since we are still dealing with Covid I was not allowed to go back with her. She was taken back for her surgery I asked if I needed to pick her up in the back they said no she would come out through the front I was anticipating them to inform me that I needed to get her since she was supposed to be under anesthesia she called me from the back of the building crying they never used anesthesia she felt the whole thing the people were very rude with complete lack of sympathy or empathy for that matter, when I was on the phone with them regarding pain medication and what we were going to do and expressing my frustration they could have cared less and told me to call one of the other offices from where the orders were sent I will be making sure that I let everyone know about how awful this facility is and how they completely lack care for patients! To top it off they did bring in the gas mask and tank but never offered to use it on her she said she cried throughout the entire surgery."
