The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain

"Great location for a true "get-away". Beautiful grounds - but remember it's a desert area - so it's about beautiful cacti!! If you want more dining choices, be aware that you'll have to travel maybe 20 min. And it's hard to get an Uber there...so renting a car may make sense."

"We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain for a brief getaway from our home located thirty minutes from the resort. The hotel and its facilities are wonderfull. The scenery is fabulous and the staff welcoming, professional and courteous. We used the AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts program to make the reservation. The program includes breakfast, room upgrade, late checkout and a resort credit. The resort is a destination resort with few dining options nearby. We have enjoyed dining at the Core Kitchen in the past. This is the main dining facilty at the property, Althought the restaurant is comfortable, very attractive and the service excellent, the dinner menu was confusing, uninviting and completely over priced. The breakfast was completely unacceptable. Although the restaurant was no more than twenty percent occuppied at 10:00am on Sunday, we had to wait fifteen or twenty minutes to be seated. Perhaos coffee should have been offered rather than having to purchase it at the adjoining takeout cafe.The young lady who seated us had no idea what the breakfast service was for the day. The menu at the maitre'd's desk was unavailable and only a buffet was offered. To summarize the breakfast, the bread and bagels were as hard as a hockey puck and the hot items generally cold. The hotel did waive the resort daily fee when we checked out after being advised of above. I suggest staying at the Ritz at Dove Mountain but consider dining at the Claytons next to the golf shop or the Ignite Bar in the hotel lobby."

"This is a beautiful hotel! Get ready to relax among wonderful views. The staff was over the top amazing and went above and beyond for our 4 year old son. The room was very nice. We spent our wedding anniversary here and everyone was just excellent. Core was very good for breakfast and dinner and the weekend sushi was great. We enjoyed round of golf (tough course!!) and really enjoyed time by the pool. The water slide is a huge hit if you have kids. We only left property for a hot air balloon ride and that was also great. Highly recommend this location!"

"Stayed during Super Bowl and the hotel bar was full as expected. We were able to get a table but had to wait a while for service. We had breakfast at Core Kitchen & I have to give compliments to Fatima! She was very friendly and gave excellent service! As for the hotel property, I would definitely recommend the short loop hike from the lobby. Beautiful views!!"
