"Black Desert Resort is the most pure of purest golf courses. It’s challenging, however fair if you are playing off the right tees. The course conditions were immaculate and no hole is the same as you wind your way through the black rock. Golf balls that end up in the 2nd cut on a traditional course will find lava at Black Desert, and won’t be retrievable. This course is a gem and must be played more than once. I have played 100’s of golf courses and this easily made my top 5, if not top 3. The service from check-in to getting carts and bag drop, was A+. Now for a couple of negatives that I will try to keep positive as these didn’t affect my round or experience on the course, however did degrade the overall experience against the higher price of admission. The entire site is a construction zone with heavy machinery dominating your attention. We drew short straws on this day and found the pile driver drilling machine working next to the immaculate practice facility. We arrived an hour early to putt, chip and hit balls, however the pile driving machine was relentless loud, so we retreated back to the main construction zone….which is the only other area to hang out before a round. Last, if your tee time is after 12noon, it’s highly likely you won’t get a 2nd round of tacos, as the truck closes at 5pm, so eat up before the round. Going to the Taco truck mid round is not allowed and if you arrive at the course between 11am and 12:30, be prepared to stand in line for tacos behind the construction crews. Additionally, there are more premium items sold at the taco truck that is not available for golfers, which was disappointing. We knew about the construction going in, however had no idea of the magnitude."

"Played the course in Sept 23, best course I've played in my life to date, exceptional service, exceptional condition, and exceptional views."

"I play a lot of golf around the country and this is one of the best courses I’ve ever played. Hands down THE best course I’ve played in my home state of Utah. It’s on par with the Bandon Dunes courses, just swap the sand dunes and ocean for black lava and the Red Rock cliffs. The course conditions and views are spectacular and the service is top notch! I’ve played it multiple times and each time it gets better. Truly bucket-list golf."

"It is a beautiful course. It is one of more challenging courses I have been on. It started off sour just because they don't have a lot of carts so they made my Brother ride with a stranger that we didn't even know. We ask them if we could just have a third cart on our tee time which has not been a problem anywhere else but they said they could because they didn't have enough carts but after complaining to them they said we could pay a cart fee if we wanted to. That is the part that made us more upset just because we first were told there is no extra carts for the day but than if you wanted to spend more money (which we already spent $250) than we can have our own carts. Overall it is still a great course. I don't know how spectators are going to watch the PGA there because there seems to not be a lot of standing room but it will be fun to see the PGA come to Utah. The other thing that they could work on is hot food in the carts. It is all inclusive but not having hot foods is carts is discouraging. We ate afterwards but it would have been nice to eat earlier or during golfing."

"I’ve had the privilege of playing all over the world at some beautiful golf courses in black desert brings up with all of those. The unique layout and contrasting colors make this course incredibly unique. It feels like you’re golfing on another planet. The service team is incredible. The pro shop team accommodating and I will definitely be back."
