"Smart style salon. I walked into your location on Happy Velley Rd & I-17 in Phoenix to encounter this stylist who states that she is the manager. The salon was completely empty and she was just sitting in the chair so I asked if I could receive a cut in style. She looked at me and stated, what do you mean what kind of cut in style because I don’t do curly hair. !!!!! I walked into the salon with my hair, pulled up into a bun it was completely straight and showed no curl pattern at all so I asked her what made her assume that I had curly?? to which she had no response. She stated again I don’t do curly hair. I’ve never done curly hair. To which I ask again what made you assume that I have curly hair since my hair is completely straight. We are the same skin complexion so what would make you think I have curly hair to which she responded well because I have curly hair. So I stated you do your hair on the daily basis and you have curly hair so if I did have curly hair, why wouldn’t you be able to do mine? She became extremely frustrated and was unable to answer the question. I told her that her comments were racist to which she responded. I’m sorry if I said something wrong. I asked for the manager, however, she stated she was the manager, and that there was no one above her, except for the owner, and that she could not give out the owners information. I am a multi ethnic background woman who’s skin tone is no darker than hers however I am mixed with African American and I guess that’s why she assumed that my hair was going to be a texture that she was unwilling to handle. It’s a shame in 2024 that we still can’t be serviced!"

"I scheduled an appointment on the website for color and cut for 10am on Sunday Oct. 8th. I received a confirmation email and I called on Friday to confirm. I arrive 10 mins before 10am not a sign of anyone there. I walk around the store for 10mins go back and still no sign. I waited for another 10mins and still not a soul insight. I grab a cart as I had a few things to get keep walking by to see if they are open. Nobody! I left at 11am and still nobody. Hours on the window says Sunday 10-4. Wasted my Sunday! No phone call as they have my number (confirmed it when I called Friday). Very disappointed and very unprofessional."

"Booked online for a 4:15 appt. Was confirmed. Get to salon at 4:05 and it's dark. Woman inside says they closed at 4. I told her I had booked online at 4:15. She just shrugged her shoulders and "apologized". The sign on the outside of the salon said they were open until 5 pm Monday-Saturday. Won't ever be back. Probably a blessing in disguise."

"Lisa has cut my hair a few times. I get rather short cuts because my hair is so thin but I’ve also seen her do trims and color on other clients who look amazing. She is always pleasant and not scared to converse. 10/10 highly recommend."
