About the Business

AZ Chimney Cakes

Welcome to AZ Chimney Cakes, located at 1055 North Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona! We are a bakery, cafe, and food store specializing in the traditional Hungarian dessert known as Chimney Cakes or Kürtöskalács. Our sweet bread is freshly baked to order, with a crispy crunchy outside and a light fluffy dough inside. These cylinder-shaped treats have a hollow center, resembling a hot smoking chimney when they come fresh out of the oven.

Our Chimney Cakes are made with fresh sweet dough daily, rolled, wrapped around a cylinder, and baked in a rotisserie oven. If you enjoy the taste of churros, you will absolutely love the scrumptiousness of a Chimney Cake! Our inspiration for bringing this delicious dessert to Arizona came from a visit to Prague, where we saw it being grilled on an open fire on the streets.

Starting in a mobile food trailer, we have now established a permanent location at Mesa Riverview in Mesa, AZ. Each Chimney Cake is hand-rolled fresh with each order and served just the way you like it. Come visit us and experience the delightful taste of Chimney Cakes at AZ Chimney Cakes!

"This was an unexpected stop. No clue what this place was or that I would need a chimney cone lol Walked in and saw the menu and I knew I needed to try one. I got the Munich. Oh my goodness! I was overcome with excitement when I tried it. I thought it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Seriously. Right up my alley with the flavor. The inside of the place is kinda weird. It had a lot going on. Red and yellow reminded me of ketchup and mustard, but we went outside and ate on the bench. I loved all the photos on the walls tho!"

"We were looking for something sweet after a movie and found this cute little bakery and coffee shop. So glad we did! The espresso was wonderfully prepared into one of the best mochas I've had in my life. Will definitely be back to sample all the chimney cake creations!"

"The custards inside the cones were amazing. We got the Bavarian cream with strawberries and the pistachio cream (absolutely delicious). You do have to wait a little as the cones appear to be cooked to order. One of our cones still had some bits of raw dough so that was a little off putting but the filling made up for it. We came at night so not too busy inside but there were a lot of online orders. Would definitely come again."
